At the agreed time, we will meet at the Café|Bar do Largo da Alfândega to begin this free tour of Florianópolis. Once gathered, we will start the tour through the historic center, popularly known as Floripa, and uncover the secrets of its most important monuments and buildings.
Who were the first inhabitants of the island of Santa Catarina? As we walk, we will learn about the indigenous tribes that founded Florianópolis, going back to the 17th century, a time marked by the arrival of Portuguese colonizers and African slaves.
After learning about the founders of the so-called "Magic Island", we will head to the Cruz e Sousa Palace, the former seat of the State Government, and the 15th of November Square. The beauty of these places will amaze you!
We will continue exploring Florianópolis by strolling through the Largo da Alfândega until we reach the Public Market. The next stop will be at the façade of the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Pretos. Additionally, we will pass by the Álvaro de Carvalho Theater, one of the most beautiful monuments in the city.
Before finishing, we will walk along Avenida Hercílio Luz until we reach the Fort of Santa Bárbara, two places that must be addressed to understand Florianópolis.
