Free Tour of the French Quarter
New Orleans was founded in 1718 on the site of what is now the famed French Quarter. The French Quarter delights travelers with its romantic courtyards, plant draped galleries, and old world architecture.
We begin the tour in Jackson Square(if the Square is closed, we meet at the Decatur Street gate)and end near the French Market. We will discuss the French, Spanish, and American periods, architecture, literary history, immigration patterns, indigenous populations, and so much more. Come, take a stroll with me back in time and learn what makes New Orleans one of the premier cities in the world.
*The city doesn't allow dogs in Jackson Square. *
