Hi guys, welcome to Zagreb, welcome to Croatia! My name is Hrvoje and I am an addict, a travel addict who turned out to become a tour guide as well. In 2015 I got bored of 9-5 routine so I decided to quit my banking job and I went traveling in South America where I ended up staying for more than 3 years. As I was traveling on a pretty tight budget, after a year of wandering all around the continet, my money was running out, so the Universe decided to send me to San Pedro de Atacama, a small, but super turistic town in the middle of Chilean Atacama desert where I happened to start working as a local tour guide. After a couple of years of guiding tours around the desert and the Andes mountain, life brought me back to Croatia where I became a licensed tour guide for Zagreb city and Zagreb County. Anyways, if you would like to get to know my city in a fun and relaxed way let me know and we'll share some good vibes together. I look forward to meeting you.

Tour description

Zagreb Decoded with Your Local Guru

Our meeting point is the Music Pavilion, the heart of Zrinjevac Park — one of the most elegant and picturesque parts of Zagreb’s famous Green Horseshoe.

From there, we’ll head to the city’s vibrant main square, Trg Bana Josipa Jelačića — the place to be if you want to celebrate a big win of Croatian athletes or mark your last day of high school by jumping into the Manduševac fountain like generations before you.

After sharing some fascinating stories about the main square, we’ll leave the Lower Town behind for a while and make our way up to the Upper Town — the very birthplace of Zagreb.

There, we’ll discover the two medieval towns, Kaptol and Gradec, from which Zagreb was born. This area is a never-ending source of urban legends, religious and political debates, love stories and war tales. It’s also home to charming pubs, cozy restaurants, museums, and some of the city’s most iconic landmarks — the Cathedral, Stone Gate, St. Mark’s Church, Radićeva Street, Tkalčićeva Street, and more.

At the end of our walk, we’ll return to the Lower Town and say goodbye at the main square — hopefully not as strangers anymore.

Hope to see you soon 🙂
