Throughout its history, the Castillo de San Felipe was subjected to several sieges and attacks . One of the most notable was during the famous Siege of Cartagena in 1741, when British forces attempted to capture the city and were successfully repelled. The Castillo de San Felipe's resilience on that occasion is considered a historical milestone and a testament to its robust defensive structure .

Now, one of the most intriguing aspects of the Castle is its intricate system of underground tunnels. These passages served both to transport supplies and to facilitate strategic troop movements.

By exploring these tunnels, you'll be able to experience and understand military history, discovering how Spanish soldiers moved stealthily to defend the fortress against potential invaders.
