Mantovagando: Free tour to discover the historic center of Mantua
Description
Welcome to the "Prisoner of the Three Lakes", founded by the Etruscans in the 5th century BC
We will travel to discover its history, the family that ruled it for 400 years, its legends, traditions and anecdotes.
We will depart from Piazza Sordello, dedicated to the troubadour Sordello da Goito mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy, where the first settlement dating back to the Etruscan era was established. We will continue, immersing ourselves in the streets and squares of the historic center: its administrative center, Piazza Broletto, with the Palazzo del Podestà and the mysterious, Shakespearean Sottoportico dei Lattonai; Piazza delle Erbe with the Palazzo della Ragione; the Clock Tower with its astronomical clock; and the Rotonda di San Lorenzo, until we reach the Basilica Co-Cathedral of Sant'Andrea, a jubilee church and guardian of the relics of the Precious Blood of Christ.
