Hello! I'm an easygoing and open-minded person who loves meeting new people and hearing their stories. I’m always curious about different cultures, beliefs, and ways of life — and I truly believe everyone has something valuable to share. I enjoy meaningful conversations, dancing to traditional music, and introducing people to authentic Ethiopian customs. Some of my favorite things include eating shiro and shekla tibs, sipping honey wine in local houses, and connecting through laughter and rhythm. I'm an optimist, a lifelong learner, and someone who believes in staying true to myself while empathizing with others. Every day brings new lessons, and I’m excited to grow through shared experiences. Let’s explore, connect, and celebrate life together!

Tour description

With Tewabe – Your Local Guru and Licensed Guide

Join me, Tewabe — a native of Lalibela — as we go beyond the world-famous rock-hewn churches to uncover the true soul of this sacred land. I’ll guide you through ancient monasteries, scenic mountain trails, and vibrant village life. These immersive experiences bring Ethiopia’s living heritage to life.

Highlight: Hike to Asheten Mariam Monastery

Perched at 3,600 meters above sea level, Asheten Mariam offers more than just breathtaking views. The journey itself is a window into highland life. Along the way, you'll meet villagers and farmers transporting goods by donkey, schoolchildren walking home from class, and locals plowing, sowing, or harvesting their fields — depending on the season.

You may also see shepherds tending their animals while playing traditional games passed down through generations.

  • Cultural Experiences
  • We’ll also stop to engage with local families and experience:
  • How to bake traditional bread or injera
  • Traditional Ethiopian coffee roasting and tasting
  • Sharing stories and laughter with the local community

During festivals, you can also enjoy:
Shoulder-style traditional dancing

  • Local drinks, including homemade tella (Ethiopian beer)

It’s a joyful, memorable encounter that goes beyond sightseeing — it’s about sharing life.
