Guatapé: Colors among the clouds

It all began one morning in Medellín, when I picked up three travelers with curious eyes and cameras ready. They didn't yet know that that day they would ascend to heaven… or at least, as close as one can get: the summit of the Piedra del Peñol .

During the journey, filled with green landscapes and conversations that turned into laughter, I told them the story of the old town submerged under the reservoir and how the locals were reborn with one of the most colorful towns in the country: Guatapé .

We climbed the 740 steps (yes, it's possible!) and were rewarded with a 360-degree panoramic view of endless lakes. We descended to stroll through streets lined with vibrant plinths , enjoyed coffee in front of the village church, and capped off our day with a breathtaking boat ride.
