My name is Marko, and I was born and raised in Split. With many years of experience guiding visitors, I love sharing the true spirit of my hometown: sunshine, freshly caught fish with olive oil, a glass of wine, and above all, our unique lifestyle of fjaka (taking it easy, slowly, like despacito or tranquillo). On my tours, I bring to life the rich history of Split and the region, while also showing you the old way of life, always combined with fun, great stories, and, of course, delicious food. I speak five languages, and I’m a passionate fan of history, the Game of Thrones series, and everything else that makes Split so special.

Tour description

Join your guide for a walk through the historic center of Split. Learn about the city's 2000-year history as you stroll through the Old Town.

Meereen, the place where Daenerys spent three seasons, where scenes of the fight between slaves and masters (the "kill the masters" scene) were filmed, battles of Grey Worm and the Unsullied against the Sons of the Harpy, the death of Ser Barristan Selmy who saved Grey Worm, the dragons that Daenerys chained and later fed to the evil masters.

Visit Diocletian's Palace and immerse yourself in its grandeur. Pass by the Golden Gate, the Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace, the Vestibulum of Diocletian's Palace, and the Temple of Jupiter. Explore the substructures of the palace.

Hear stories about the city's history and see where scenes from the popular TV series Game of Thrones were filmed. Visit the spot where Daenerys fought the Great Masters of Mereen.

Pass by the Game of Thrones Museum Split and the Game of Thrones Split Fan Shop. Learn about Emperor Diocletian, the greatest persecutor of Christians. Find out how much the Venetians paid for Split and why a headless Sphinx guards the entrance to Jupiter’s Temple.

Let's watch together the scenes filmed in Split at every filming spot from seasons 4 and 5.
*Please note that the entrance fee to Diocletian’s Cellars is not included in the price and is paid separately at the entrance (€8 per person).
