Welcome! We are Óscar and Martina, an Italian-Spanish couple who created ImperaTours with the aim of offering high-quality tourism services in this incredible city. Óscar is a certified guide in Lazio and Andalusia, a historian, and has several years of experience in the industry. Martina is a true Roman, also an official guide, who loves her city and knows every corner of her native Rome. Yes, we love Rome, and above all, we are passionate about our work. We are delighted to see people learn and have fun on our tours, and let's be clear, Rome makes it easy for us—there's no shortage of history, art, culture... You could spend a lifetime in the Eternal City, and there would always be something new and surprising to discover. Will you join us?

Tour description

TOUR by Martina:

Welcome to the CALtour of Rome, the first and only free tour in the city where food, art and language come together!

On this tour, you'll discover the true culture of Rome, visiting some of the main squares and monuments of the historic center , sampling its typical cuisine , and learning a bit of the Romanesco dialect . Are you up for it?

We'll begin our walk at the Pantheon , Rome's oldest building. We'll whet our appetites by discussing typical Roman cured meats in a historic shop on the piazza. We'll continue our stroll through Rome's most beautiful square, Piazza Navona . Here, you'll find pizzerias and bars where we can discover the origins of truly Roman dishes and customs . Next, we'll head to Campo de' Fiori , a unique square (who wants to know why?) in the city, where some not-so-pleasant secrets are hidden. On our way to the next stop, the famous Jewish Ghetto , one of the oldest in Europe and the oldest in Italy, we'll continue sampling delicious Roman street food —though it's incredibly hot! Do you know what a Roman would say after eating it? Well, you can't write it down here... Finally, we'll visit Trastevere , the quintessential neighborhood for Roman nightlife ! It's also the perfect place to enjoy a meal at a good restaurant and/or go out partying . Obviously, I'll be recommending places!

Want to discover them? Join us!

PS: You can try some of the food at the places we have selected as an option and according to the tour schedule.
