Free Tour with entry to St. Peter's Basilica and Papal Tombs

The tour lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes
Available in Spanish

Description

A different free tour: here we don't stay outside.

Discover the heart of Catholicism from within, entering St. Peter's Basilica and descending to the Papal Tombs, where the tomb of the apostle St. Peter is located.
While many tours stay outside, we cross together the doors of the most important basilica in the world to understand its history, its art, and its significance.
We will visit:
✓ St. Peter's Square: the obelisk, Bernini's colonnade, and its secrets
✓ Interior of the Basilica: Michelangelo's Pietà, Bernini's Baldachin, monumental chapels, and the dome viewed from inside
✓ Papal Tombs (Vatican Grottos): the crypt where numerous popes rest, including the tomb of St. Peter
A complete tour that goes beyond external explanations, delving into sacred spaces with over 2000 years of history, art, and faith.
"Duration subject to availability of St. Peter's Basilica and queue time"
It is a free tour, at the end of the tour, each traveler decides their contribution according to the experience.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING
Individual access to St. Peter's Basilica is free. However, entering for free on your own does not include any guide service, historical explanations, accompaniment, or radio guide system, elements especially important to understand the history, art, and significance of this extraordinary place.
To carry out this guided tour, a mandatory fee of €7 per person is requested, intended to partially cover the expenses generated by each participant attending the tour.
This fee includes the official cost of €1.50 per person required to conduct the guided tour inside the Basilica, the external rental of the radio guide system and headphones, as well as the management and organization expenses of the activity.
The radio guides are delivered from the beginning of the tour, as the visit starts at our meeting point in Piazza della Città Leonina and continues through St. Peter's Square before entering the Basilica. This way, everyone can comfortably listen to the explanations from the first moment, even in the most crowded spaces.
The €7 is paid in cash at the start of the activity. We would appreciate it if you bring the exact amount to facilitate the organization. This payment applies only to people who take the tour; if you book and do not attend, you will not have to pay it.
The tip for the guide is independent and completely voluntary. At the end, each participant decides how much they wish to contribute according to their satisfaction with the experience and the work done.
If you wish to enter for free and tour the Basilica without a guide or additional services, you can visit it on your own. If, on the other hand, you are interested in knowing and understanding it through an organized visit, with explanations, accompaniment with radio and headphones from the start, this tour is for you.
Our goal is to offer you a complete, well-cared-for, and enriching experience in the heart of St. Peter's.
