Tour description
Discover Shinjuku, one of Tokyo's most iconic districts.
In this Free sunset tour, we will explore its nightlife, urban contrasts, and its most representative scenes as night falls.
At 6:00 PM, when the neon lights turn on and the city changes pace, we will begin a 2-hour walking tour to understand how the Japanese live, work, and enjoy their leisure time in one of the most fascinating places in the world.
We will start at the East exit of Shinjuku Station, next to the famous 3D cat, one of the new symbols of the area.
From there, we will delve into Omoide Yokocho, a historic alley that retains part of the post-war Japan atmosphere among small traditional establishments and narrow passages.
We will continue to Kabukicho to learn, without myths or exaggerations, about Japanese nightlife, host and hostess clubs, safety, and cultural norms to explore the area respectfully.
We will explore the iconic Golden Gai and visit Hanazono Shrine, a shrine hidden among neon lights that reflects the coexistence of tradition and modernity in today's Japan.
We will end at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, where we will talk about the city's transformation, work, rents, work pace, and cultural curiosities that surprise travelers.
At the end of the tour, you can go up to the observation deck to enjoy the night views of Tokyo and the light show projected on the building, recognized with a Guinness World Record. It will also be an excellent spot to continue the night or have dinner in the area.
