This 2.5-hour guided walking tour takes you to the most iconic landmarks of Gamla Stan—the Royal Palace , Riddarhuset , Stortorget , and the Parliament. We'll begin our tour in the center of Riddarholmen Island, next to the statue of Birger Jarl , the founder of the capital, before delving into stories and hidden corners that most visitors never see: a bloody royal battle , a mysteriously narrow alleyway , Viking-era runes concealed in a wall, and the unlikely rise of a French soldier to the Swedish throne .
