Route through the symbolic places of the old city of Lyon
Description
Discover Lyon on foot through an itinerary that crosses the historic heart of the city, between the Saône, Vieux Lyon, and the Presqu’île. A route among medieval architectures, monumental squares, and symbolic places, where Roman history, the Renaissance, and the modern city intertwine.
We will start from Place des Terreaux and arrive at Place Bellecour, crossing the historic center of the city. We begin at the famous Bartholdi fountain, in front of the Museum of Fine Arts, then head down towards the Saône and the Vieux Lyon district. Here we will stop at the Cathedral of Saint-Jean and the Palais de Justice, crossing some of the “secret passages” of the historic center, retracing the city's history from the Middle Ages to the present day.
The route then continues in the Presqu’île, among elegant streets and symbolic squares, until reaching Place Bellecour, one of the largest squares in Europe.
