Tokyo: Traditional Coin Ring Making in the Heart of Asakusa

The tour lasts 1 hour
Available in English

Description

Turn a forgotten piece of history into something you'll wear for a lifetime.

In this one-of-a-kind workshop, you'll transform an authentic vintage coin from around the world into a handcrafted ring while learning the techniques used to shape metal into jewelry. Every coin carries its own history, and no two rings are exactly alike, making your finished piece a truly personal keepsake from Japan.

Located on the 6th floor in the heart of Asakusa, the studio overlooks the iconic Tokyo Skytree, creating a memorable setting that blends old and new Tokyo. As you craft your ring, you'll enjoy one of Japan's most historic neighborhoods.

Under the guidance of skilled instructors, you'll experience the complete ring-making process—from selecting your vintage coin and carefully expanding and shaping it into a ring to polishing it into a beautiful finish. No previous experience is necessary, and every step is designed to be enjoyable for beginners, couples, families, and solo travelers.

Unlike a typical souvenir, your ring carries a story. Once used as everyday currency, the coin is given a new purpose through your own hands, becoming a lasting reminder of your journey in Japan. Whether you wear it every day or keep it as a treasured memento, it's a piece that connects craftsmanship, history, and travel in a way that few souvenirs can.
[Important]
Participants will be required to pay a material fee of 1,200 yen for the cost of the ring itself.
