At the scheduled time, we will gather at the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square, a site recognized as a World Heritage location nestled in the center of London. Accompanied by a knowledgeable art historian, this experience will uncover key aspects of a collection that spans over 700 years of European artistic expressions.
As we navigate through the gallery, our expert guide will highlight the most significant pieces, sharing the intriguing narratives behind the artworks of famed masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, and Vincent van Gogh.
During the tour, we will understand how the Gallery’s esteemed collection, which was established in 1824, expanded to feature more than 2,600 paintings. This journey encompasses a variety of styles, from striking religious depictions to vibrant landscapes and renowned portraits, presenting an ideal gateway into the remarkable offerings of the National Gallery.
Among the remarkable pieces housed in the National Gallery, you will find works like "A Young Woman standing at a Virginal" by Johannes Vermeer, "Bacchus and Ariadne" by Titian, and "Sunflowers" by Vincent van Gogh. Instructions
On the day of the activity, meet your guide at the indicated time at the National Gallery, located at Trafalgar Square, London, WC2N 5DN. Specifically, the tour will begin at the Sainsbury Wing entrance, the National Gallery’s new main entrance.
Once you pass the safety control and enter the lobby in Sainsbury Wing, you'll need to head to the meeting point tour sign, located on the ground floor (Level 0) of the Sainsbury Wing lobby. The guide will be waiting for you on the right of the stairs. The guide can be easily identified by wearing a yellow Official National Gallery badge. Please be there at least 15 minutes beforehand.
