Join us on this day excursion to Guadalest, Altea, and Fuentes del Alga, where we will uncover the beauty of these hidden treasures within the Valencian Community.
Details of the Day Trip
We will convene at the Exhibition Room of La Lonja del Pescado (Sala d'Exposició de la Llonja del Peix) at the scheduled time, where we will board a bus for our journey to Guadalest. This 60 km (37 mi) ride takes us away from the pristine blue waters of the Mediterranean.
After approximately one hour on the road, we'll arrive at Fuentes del Algar, an intriguing natural setting characterized by stunning waterfalls and abundant biodiversity in its vicinity. Recognized as a Protected Wetland Area, the springs here are a testament to ecological importance. You’ll have some free time to swim in the springs and soak in the surroundings.
Next, we will proceed to the enchanting medieval village of Guadalest, where a guided tour awaits. Discover its most notable sites, including the San José Castle, a historic fortress perched among mountains that provide breathtaking views. We will also observe the baroque church and the lively Town Hall Square.
Despite its compact size, Guadalest offers a range of exhibitions, including the Museum of Microminiatures, Microgiant Museum, Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum, and the Ethnological Museum, all worth a visit during your free time.
After our exploration, we will board the bus once more and, in just thirty minutes, arrive at Altea. A stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of the historic center will reveal its charming white houses adorned with floral balconies, along with the prominent Consuelo Church and its distinctive vaults visible from various vantage points around Altea.
Upon concluding our walking tour, you will have some free time to further discover scenic viewpoints, relax on the beach, or sample local dishes at restaurants overlooking the Mediterranean. An ideal way to wrap up your excursion!
After an enriching 11-hour adventure, we will make our way back to the original meeting point in Alicante.
Itinerary Modifications
Kindly note that during the trips from Alicante to Fuentes de Algar and from Altea back to Alicante, we will have a rest stop in Benidorm.
