Embark on a journey to uncover one of the hidden gems of Castilla-La Mancha with this day trip to Consuegra from Madrid. A highlight of this excursion includes viewing the iconic windmills.
Details of the Day Trip
If you're in Madrid and eager to explore one of the most stunning towns in Castilla-La Mancha, meet us at 3, Paseo del Prado at the scheduled time for this trip to Consuegra, renowned for its windmills.
Traveling by minibus, we will head to the charming town situated in the Toledo province. During the journey, an informative guide will share stunning insights about the region, provided through pre-recorded audio in English. After making a quick stop at Plaza de España, where you can purchase breakfast at your own expense, we will commence a guided exploration of Cerro Calderico. Atop this hill, we'll witness the historic Consuegra windmills. It’s fascinating to think that Don Quijote mistook them for giants! Throughout our walk, we will explore how these picturesque Manchegan landscapes stirred the imagination of Miguel de Cervantes.
Once we finish our visit to the hill, we will enter the Rucio Windmill before continuing our adventure in Consuegra with a visit to La Muela Castle. This medieval fortress, which played a crucial role during the Reconquest of Spain, boasts a notably strategic position.
After our castle tour, we will return to the meeting point in Madrid, concluding our experience after approximately 7 hours.

There may be occasions when an English-speaking guide is unavailable. To maintain a high-quality experience, the trip will always feature English audio recordings.
