Trastevere and Jewish Ghetto Tour
The tour meets in Piazza Trilussa, on the banks of the River Tiber, beginning the guided exploration of the ancient Roman Jewish Quarter. From here, we'll wander through Trastevere’s cobbled streets, reaching the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, a key site in the area.
Continuing, we'll head to the Tiber river, cross the Cestio Bridge, and visit the Tiber Island, which features the Basilica of St. Bartholomew.
On the opposite riverbank, we will explore Rome's Jewish Quarter, stopping at the Theatre of Marcellus, reminiscent of other ancient monuments. Nearby, you will find Sant'Angelo Church and the Pórtico de Octavia.
The tour proceeds to the Fontana delle Tartarughe (Turtle Fountain) in Piazza Mattei, where you will learn about its legends. We’ll also walk through Via Arenula, a main shopping avenue, and visit the Church of San Blas and San Carlos ai Catanari. The tour concludes at the entrance of the Santa Barbara dei Librai church, near the famous Campo de' Fiori.
