Explore the Colosseum and its surroundings on a guided evening tour through the heart of Ancient Rome. This experience includes views over the Roman Forum from above, as well as several of the city’s most important historical sites.

The tour begins at Trajan’s Column, continuing along Via dei Fori Imperiali with panoramic views of the Roman Forum, once the civic and commercial center of the empire. As you walk, your professional English speaking guide will share stories about Rome’s political religious and social life, pointing out temples arches and key landmarks that shaped the ancient city.

Passing by the Forums of Caesar and Augustus, you will make your way toward the highlight of the tour, the Colosseum. Enter the amphitheater in the evening, when it is quieter and more atmospheric, and discover the history of the monument and the people who once filled its stands.

Inside the Colosseum, your guide will explain the structure and evolution of the amphitheater, as well as the spectacles that once took place here.

The meeting point is not at the Colosseum.The tour starts on the platform directly in front of Trajan’s Column. Trajan’s Column (~30 m high with engravings) is located on Via dei Fori Imperiali next to Piazza Venezia. When standing right in front and facing the Victor Emmanuel II Monument (a.k.a. the “Wedding Cake), it’s directly to the left across the street. In the summer, your tour coordinator will be waiting there wearing a blue polo shirt with the City Wonders logo printed on it, and in the winter, a blue jacket of the same design.

At checkout you will be asked to share the full name of each passenger in your party, please note that this name cannot be changed after booking and must match the name on the valid ID you must present at the entrance

On this tour, some of the venues or parts of the venue may be subject to last-minute, unpredictable closures; when this occurs, customers will be offered an extended tour in keeping with the advertised total length of the tour
This tour involves a fair amount of walking, hills, and stairs; comfortable shoes are recommended
