Welcome to the ancient realm of the pharaohs! On this extensive private tour of Egypt, you will spend 8 unforgettable days exploring Luxor, Aswan, Edfu, Abu Simbel, and other essential landmarks, complete with a cruise along the Nile River.
Tour Overview
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
Your adventure begins in Egypt! We will welcome you at either Cairo Airport or Sphinx Airport, based on your preference. Following visa assistance and help with immigration, we will transfer you to your hotel in Cairo. Enjoy the day at your leisure until late afternoon, when we'll take you to a local restaurant for a savory dinner. After savoring local cuisine, we'll return you to your accommodation for a restful night.
In case your flight lands after 9 PM, we will provide you with a cold picnic at the hotel instead of the dinner.
Day 2: Cairo - Giza - Memphis - Returning to Cairo
After a hearty breakfast in Cairo, we will embark on a short journey of about 30 minutes to one of the most iconic sites of ancient Egypt. Here, you'll enjoy a guided exploration of the Sphinx and one of the Giza pyramids. Depending on availability, we will explore either the pyramid of Cheops, Khafre, or Menkaure, with an entrance fee of 1500 EGP per person for this experience.
Post-tour, we will savor a traditional meal at a nearby restaurant. Once re-energized, we will continue our journey to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Here, we will observe the remnants of the Saqqara necropolis and the renowned statue of Pharaoh Ramses II.
In the afternoon, we will proceed to the old part of Cairo, where we'll discover its medieval quarter, explore its oldest streets, and visit the Khan el Kalili market. Afterward, we will stop at the iconic Café des Miroirs before enjoying a typical Egyptian dinner at a local venue.
At the end of the day, we will take you back to your hotel in Cairo.
Day 3: Exploring Cairo
The third day starts with a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel. We will then pick you up for a tour around central Cairo. Discover some of the most significant sites, including the Citadel of Saladin, the Muhammad Ali Mosque, and the bustling Khan el-Khalili market, finishing with a visit to the Coptic quarter. We'll break for a traditional lunch at a local eatery.
After lunch, the journey continues to view the grand masterpieces housed in the Grand Egyptian Museum, excluding the mummy room. The evening will conclude with a delicious dinner at another local restaurant before returning to your hotel for the night.
Day 4: From Cairo to Luxor
Following breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Cairo Airport for a flight to Luxor. After about an hour in the air, we will arrive at the ancient city of Thebes, once the capital during Egypt's Middle and New Kingdoms.
Upon arrival, our morning will be dedicated to a guided visit of Luxor Temple, featuring its beautiful avenue of sphinxes and grand columns. After this enlightening tour, we’ll take a short horse-drawn carriage ride through Luxor.
This will lead us to a boat on the Nile River, where you can spend the remainder of the day relaxing on the cruise ship, enjoying lunch, resting, and dining onboard.
Day 5: Luxor - Edfu
After a fulfilling breakfast on the boat, we will meet you at the river pier to explore another one of Luxor's treasures – the Karnak Temple, a World Heritage Site dedicated to the great Amun. Here, we'll discover its historical significance before heading back to the river.
A small boat will ferry us across the river in approximately 15 minutes, where we will have a guided tour of the Valley of the Kings, learning about ancient Egyptian funerary customs and the final resting places of prominent pharaohs. Note that a visit to Tutankhamun's tomb incurs an additional charge of 900 EGP per person.
We will complete our intense morning with a visit to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and view the stunning Colossi of Memnon, replicas of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
The day concludes with lunch back on the boat before setting sail down the Nile towards Edfu. Enjoy an evening journey with dinner served onboard as we glide past the Esna lock, where you can admire the sunset.
Day 6: Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan
After enjoying breakfast with picturesque views of the Nile, we will set out for a guided visit to the Temple of Edfu. This remarkably preserved temple is dedicated to the god Horus and is full of fascinating history waiting to be uncovered.
Following our exploration, we'll return to the cruise ship and continue our journey downstream to Kom Ombo. Here, we will disembark to see the unique double temple from the Ptolemaic era, dedicated to gods Sobek and Hareoris.
After visiting the Kom Ombo temple, we'll head back for lunch on board and spend the afternoon at leisure before continuing our sail toward Aswan, arriving early the next morning.
Note: In Edfu, transportation will be by horse-drawn carriage. If you prefer to travel by car or bus, please inform your guide one day in advance.
Day 7: Aswan - Abu Simbel - Aswan
On the penultimate day of our tour, we will have breakfast onboard before embarking on a road trip lasting around 3 hours to Abu Simbel. There, we will visit the stunning temples carved into the mountains during Pharaoh Ramses II's era. Interestingly, these structures were relocated to an artificial hill in 1968 to avoid flooding from the Aswan Dam's construction.
After our tour of Abu Simbel, we will sail over to the temple on Philae Island, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and after learning about its fascinating history, we will return to the Nile's opposite bank and make our way back to the cruise ship in Aswan for lunch.
Post-lunch, we'll board a felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailboat, for a scenic one-hour journey around Aswan as we leisurely cruise along the Nile.
We'll return to the cruise ship around 4 PM, where the remainder of the day is free for you to relax. Dinner will be served on board as we spend the night at the Aswan port.
Day 8: Aswan - Cairo
Enjoy breakfast on the boat prior to our transfer to Aswan Airport for your 1.5-hour flight to Cairo.
We will coordinate the pickup time according to your international flight. For early departures, we will arrange an earlier flight from Aswan with a packed breakfast, while afternoon flights will allow for a continental breakfast on the boat before heading to the airport.
Essential Information
The itinerary may undergo changes for operational purposes, but all key visits will remain as planned. Depending on your arrival day, you may experience Cairo before or after the cruise.

Your private tour of Egypt necessitates a round-trip flight to Cairo, arriving on your chosen day and departing the following week.
Comprehensive Package
Your total price includes all essentials: visa, domestic flights, air-conditioned transport, accommodations, meals, guided tours, and entrance fees, excluding the ticket for Cheops pyramid and Tutankhamun's tomb.
Note that additional costs for transfers not using horse-drawn carriages in Edfu are EUR 15 per person; photography permissions in the Valley of the Kings cost 300 EGP per person; Wi-Fi onboard may be limited depending on usage.
It is difficult to compare our pricing with other agencies as we include virtually everything, while other agencies might charge double once add-ons are accounted for.

Note: For those boarding in Aswan on Wednesdays and Fridays, an option of an overnight stay in a city hotel is available, with return to the cruise the following day.
Pricing Information
- Quoted prices are per person based on double occupancy.
- Groups of 3 will be assigned a double room with an additional bed. Separate room requests for a third person incur an extra fee.
- Quadruple rooms are not available; however, groups of four can request two adjoining double rooms, subject to the hotel and cruise ship's availability.
- Children under 2 can partake in this tour free of charge.

Instructions
Our guides will be waiting for you at Cairo or Sphinx Airport to assist you with obtaining your visa and passing through immigration. They will be carrying a Civitatis sign. If you have any questions, you can call the contact number provided on this voucher.
- For security reasons, 2 or 3 days before your arrival, you'll need to send an email to the local team with a copy of your passport.
- The guide will not be able to enter Sphinx Airport, where representatives are prohibited from entering the airport. If you arrive at this airport, they will be waiting for you outside, along with the driver.
- A permit is required to take photographs in the Valley of the Kings. According to the Ministry of Antiquities, the permit costs 300EGP and can be purchased at the entrance to the Valley of the Kings.
- You'll be responsible for paying for drinks and WiFi service on board the cruise ship.
- Boat schedule: check-in on the boat will be from 12 noon and check-out will be around 8 am. The boat's swimming pool is cleaned from 8 am to 12 noon, so if you arrive at 10 am, for example, it will not be open.
- People who wish to purchase tickets to the pyramids must notify the guide at the ticket office, as once inside the enclosure, it is not possible to return to the ticket office to purchase them. Without prior notice and due to renovations, when Kefrén is open, Micerinos is usually closed, and vice versa. The one that is always open (although it may close for renovation reasons) is Keops.
Travel Insurance
Insurance is not included in this tour, so we recommend that you book it yourself on the Civitatis website.
Dinner on the First Day
If you arrive later than 9 pm, instead of dinner, we'll offer you a cold picnic in the hotel.
