Take a day trip from Florence to explore parts of Tuscany. The tour visits several towns known for their history, local products, and views of the surrounding countryside.
The first stop is Pienza, a Renaissance town in the Val d’Orcia, known for Pecorino cheese. Walk through the town and try local products.
Continue to Montalcino, a hill town known for its wine, including Brunello di Montalcino. You’ll have time to take part in tastings and sample regional food (if option selected). The tastings include 1 Brunello di Montalcino, 1 Rosso di Montalcino, cold cuts, and cheeses.
Next, visit Monteriggioni, a small walled village with 13th-century fortifications. It has also been featured in a popular video game inspired by the Knights Templar. The Templar Museum visit is included (if option selected).
Before returning, pass through the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO-listed area known for its landscapes. Some scenes from the movie Gladiator were filmed here.
