Mel was a 5 star tour guide. She was super friendly, engaging and knew her history of Prague! Mel gave us such a pro walking tour that we booked the castle tour with her as well.

I joined a tour with GuruWalk and Prague Pulse Tours. I paid at the end of the experience, so it was not a free tour (FYI in case this is questioned or misrepresented).
Unfortunately, the experience included culturally insensitive and unnecessary personal remarks that made the tour uncomfortable. A walking tour should focus on history and cultural insight, not on making guests feel singled out.
I hope the company takes feedback seriously and ensures future tours are conducted with professionalism and respect for all participants.

Regarding the nature of our tours: GuruWalk's "free tour" model is designed so that guests pay what they feel the experience was worth. If the tour was not what you had expected, you are always welcome to leave without paying, and you are also encouraged to speak with your guide directly if something doesn't feel right during the tour itself.
We have spoken with our guide about your feedback, and he was genuinely surprised to learn that his comments were received this way. In over 10 years of leading tours, this is the first time he has received feedback of this nature. His intention was simply to create a relaxed atmosphere within what was a small group of six people. In smaller groups, guides often engage more with guests, and talking about people's hometowns and backgrounds is something our guides and guests usually enjoy, it's their way of connecting with the people they meet. The conversations were never intended to make anyone feel singled out, but rather to find common ground and something everyone could relate to.
