Donat was full of hatred against Soviets that he refrained to credit the Red Army as liberators. Luckily he was too ashamed to take a step further and admit that he was almost happy about Hungary’s alliance with the Nazis. He also hated Ottomans and looked at my face each time he mentions, since I am from Turkey. I even said, “man, I didn’t do anything!” I could not finish the tour, ruined my afternoon.

It was very hot and sunny Sunday in Budapest, and I must admit it was nice to see how Maria took care of us, not to overheat in the sun. We made a lot of stops in scenic places to discuss most notable events in history of the city. We covered not very long distance, however most interesting places on Buda hill are not so far away from each other. I recommend Maria as good guide through the city.
