Highlights of Munich City Centre

Hello, I am Aileen a tour-guiding working in the heart of this famous city for over 5 years! I am a Brit by birth, have spent 8 years living in the USA, and am now married to a Munich local. After years of experience taking tourists around, I aim to bring Munich's history and culture alive!

 We start off in Marienplatz and take in the town halls and the Glockenspiel (depending on the time of the tour, we may or may not watch the Glockenspiel together). After explaining the origins of Munich, we head to the beautiful Viktualienmarkt. A chance to see what fuels the cities inhabitants and time to talk about the unique food, beer and Biergarten culture. 

Walking past the grand buildings of the 19th century, we see what inspired the kings of Bavaria, and naturally we touch on the darker history of Munich during the Third Reich. 

 I also want to give you some perspective on modern Munich, and plenty of recommendations for things to see and do after the tour!
