Eager to immerse yourself in the picturesque English countryside? This day trip from London will take you to Oxford, the birthplace of Shakespeare, the enchanting Cotswolds, and the historic Warwick Castle. An experience not to be overlooked!
Details of the Day Trip
Your adventure begins at Victoria Station, where we will gather before departing from London to delve into the beauty of the English countryside. Are you prepared to uncover some of the UK’s most delightful villages? Let’s set off!
Our journey will feature a scenic drive through the Cotswolds, widely regarded as one of England's most stunning regions, characterized by its undulating hills, idyllic rural scenery, and quaint stone hamlets. Following our drive, we will arrive at Warwick Castle, a magnificent fortress established almost 1,000 years ago by William the Conqueror. Once we arrive, a medieval host will greet us, sharing captivating stories and the castle’s hidden gems. We'll journey back in time with hands-on activities such as trying on medieval armor, visiting a grand Victorian hall, and exploring the castle's private chambers.
Next, we’ll make our way to Stratford-upon-Avon, the esteemed birthplace of William Shakespeare. Here, you will have the opportunity to wander this charming town and explore the residence of one of the most influential figures in literature.
The final destination on our itinerary is Oxford, home to the United Kingdom's oldest university. A guided walking tour will take us along its most famous thoroughfares, providing views of remarkable landmarks like the Bodleian Library, the Bridge of Sighs, and the University Church of St Mary the Virgin.
After a memorable adventure through the whispers of English history and the scenic landscapes, we will return to London, concluding our tour after approximately 10 to 10.5 hours.
