Thanks Marina for this very interesting tour ! It was really a pleasant walk and meeting you, Ingrid and Justine was a blast !! I feel so lucky :) This tour was more interesting for me than the upper town, which is more related to church and cathedrals, which don't interest me. But you need to see this part of Zabreb obviously. Thanks again Marina !
Marina is very passionate, well-red and clearly doesn't stick to a prepared script. You can tell she loves her city.
If you do have some time in Zagreb, do not miss out on this tour through a beautiful area, central but away from mainstream tourism. Marina is a warm and knowledgeable tour guide who will adapt the tour to special interests, if there are. On this tour you will see the city with different eyes. Do recommend!
Marina was on time, and had the good sense to modify her tour slightly and incorporate POI that met our preferences into it. She delivered a lot of information in an engaging manner and was never in a hurry to finish the tour as long as we were engaged - and we were! Thanks, Marina
Fabulous tour. Marina was very knowledgeable and informative. Highly recommend Marina’s tour.
It is different part of the city, lower town. Generally other walking tours are focusing to upper town. If you would like to see more local areas, experience different part of the city and learn architecture style in Zagreb I recommend this tour. Tour guide was great 👍
E' stato un tour davvero molto interessante. Grazie ad Angel abbiamo scoperto tantissime cose nuove. Ha delle ottime capacità comunicative. Sono state due ore davvero molto piacevoli. E soprattutto conosce molto bene il territorio. Lo consiglio vivamente!
It was very nice and she was very sweet
Grazie ancora 🥰
A pefect tour
Marina is super passionate and really enables you to connect with the city. I truly enjoyed the tour admiring the art nouveau and modernist buildings as I learnt about the history of Zagreb.
A great tour and an amazing guide Marina. Very interesting, informative without overloading, engaging and fun 🤩
Fantastic experience to go around lower town. This is the only tour that really take you wandering in lower town. Without this tour, you will miss a very beautiful part of the city. Marina pointed out many details and small gem that I’d have missed and just passed by :) (or probably would never have visited) With Marina’s guidance, you can enjoy the city’s history together with their beautiful architecture. More importantly, you get to know what they mean under the deco! Really enjoyed it.
My wife Dinara and I were delighted with this walking tour led by Marina. Marina does a great job of keeping everyone engaged and making sure people interact with each other. The time flies by during the tour. We were especially impressed by her knowledge and her ability to answer every question, whether it was about history, current events, or topics related (or even unrelated) to the tour. It is clear that she genuinely enjoys what she does, and she conducts the tour with outstanding professionalism. My wife and I have joined many walking tours in different cities across Europe, and honestly, Marina is among the very best guides we have had. During the tour, we especially enjoyed learning about the history of Zagreb's Lower Town, fascinating curiosities about Nikola Tesla, the connection between the Esplanade Hotel and the Orient Express, and the meteorological column, which has been displaying temperature and air pressure since XIX century, and much much more. We were also lucky enough to see the Cravat Regiment (30 Years' War) on horseback. It was amazing to see these soldiers in their historical uniforms and learn from Marina about the origin of the modern necktie. One more important recommendation: Marina also leads another tour called "Zagreb Beyond the Guidebooks", which we highly recommend. If you want to get a complete perspective of Zagreb, we encourage you to join both of her tours... and we are so glad we did!!! :)
Enjoyed my time with Marina highly recommend
I was very surprised to discover how Lower Town in Zagreb is pleasant and rich, on the historic and cultural level. Marina is an enthusiastic and nice guide who knows very well how to communicate her knowledge on the city. She covey it in her own unique way. Professionally, interesting, but seasoned with a humour. With her endless patience she takes you through Zagreb's streets and squares to see all the beautiful places - the familiar ones, and those that only local knows. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed this walking tour very much. In fact it was one of the highlights of our stay in Croatia. Marina was extremely informative, engaging, friendly and a true professional. It was evident that she enjoyed sharing information about her country and was happy to reply to our questions. The tour was interesting and an excellent way to get to know the lower town of Zagreb with it's beautiful architecture. We were shown so many attractive buildings which we would have missed out on if we walked around on our own. At the end of the tour we felt enriched with all the interesting stories and information and we made a new friend. We highly recommend this tour with Marina.
If you’re considering a tour which introduces you to the architecture, art and history of the “Lower Town” of Zagreb, this is the tour! This was our second tour with Marina. Earlier in the week, we joined Marina for a walk of the “Upper Town”, which we throughly enjoyed. She is informative and knowledgeable. I gave Marina a 5 star review i l because it was the highest number of stars available. She’s the best!
Very knowledgeable about the city. She went above and beyond in terms of recommendations for meals and places to visit. She explained all the sights we saw during our walk in great detail. She was engaging during talks and was more than willing to answer all the questions we had. I would highly recommend Marina particularly if you are in a small group. Thank you Marina!
Martina is very knowledgeable and we got to learn a lot about the Austro-Hungarian period expansion of Zagreb (mainly from ~1850 to the start of WW1) into the lower town. The tour has lots of good info about both the architecture and history of this period. Would highly recommend.
Marina is a lovely lady! She's very knowledgeable on the city and puts a personal touch on the tour. I highly recommend this tour. Bonus points for suggesting food places and other interesting museums that I wouldn't gave heard of without her !
I attended Marina's beyond the guidebook tour in December 2022. She mentioned she's planning a second tour and I happy to have done her second tour. This is a great tour for anyone who's into art and history. As a bonus the tour covers a lot of picturesque buildings so you'll get great photos to take. Recommended for someone who has done both. (And of course looking forward to the third tour :) )
