Adel is not just an excellent tour guide and a true Alexandrian at heart; he is, in many ways, a philosopher with a distinct personality, a vision, and a philosophy of his own. He believes that although he has shared the same places and stories hundreds of times, every tour should feel like discovering Alexandria for the very first time. He approaches the city with the same curiosity and enthusiasm, exploring it all over again through the eyes of his new friend — the traveler. What makes Adel truly exceptional is that he wants his guests to inspire him. He doesn't see them merely as visitors receiving information, but as genuine partners in creating a unique experience together. His philosophy is built on sharing interests, exchanging opinions, welcoming suggestions, and even embracing constructive criticism during the tour itself, while there is still time to make the experience better, rather than waiting until it is over. To me, this is the mark of a truly intelligent guide who genuinely cares about his guests and constantly seeks to give them the best possible experience. Unfortunately, I traveled to Cairo on my own, without a guide. While exploring the archaeological sites, I struggled to understand some of the artifacts from the descriptions displayed alongside them. Even though our tour together in Alexandria had already ended and I was now in another city, I shared my difficulties with Adel and sent him pictures. He patiently explained every single picture to me! At that point, I had even told him that I was experiencing a problem with the app on my phone and might not be able to leave him the wonderful review he deserved. He knew that our tour was over, that I was no longer in Alexandria, and that he might not receive anything more from me — not even a review. Yet, he treated me with the warmth and generosity of a family member, without expecting anything in return. Fortunately, the app is working perfectly, and writing this review is the least I can do to thank him for his extraordinary kindness. Adel, you are remarkably humble despite being, in my eyes, the best tour guide I have ever met. Your knowledge is impressive, but what truly distinguishes you is your mind, your philosophy, your genuine interest in people, and your willingness to go above and beyond long after the tour has ended. If you are looking for more than a conventional sightseeing tour — if you want to discover Alexandria with someone who sees you as a person, a friend, and a partner in the experience — I wholeheartedly recommend Adel. You may arrive as a traveler, but you will be welcomed as a friend. Wishing you all the success you deserve, Adel. Thank you for being exactly the kind of person you are. With gratitude and friendship, Maria ❤️

Adel is not just a tour guide who memorizes historical facts; he is a passionate storyteller and a wonderful human being who makes you feel as if you are exploring the city with a friend. What truly revealed his noble character was the way he corrected me when I shared some inaccurate information about Alexandria due to my limited knowledge of the city. Instead of embarrassing me in front of my daughter, Cecil, he presented the correct information as an addition to what I had said, allowing me to learn something new without losing face in front of my little girl. But there is another side to Adel that I never expected! He has a truly unusual and fascinating aura about him. At one point, he went to get a bottle of water for us while Cecil and I waited. Two young men in the street tried to bother us, and I felt the situation could turn into a serious confrontation. But when Adel returned, before I could even tell him what they had been doing, he seemed to understand the situation immediately. He looked at them and said something in a low voice in Egyptian Arabic. To this day, I have absolutely no idea what he told them! 😅 But their reaction was remarkable: they showed him an extraordinary level of respect and seemed almost eager to get out of his way. At that moment, I realized that Adel's personality is far stronger than I had initially imagined. He is incredibly kind and warm with his friends, but beneath that gentle nature lies a powerful presence and a strong protective instinct. He possesses a rare combination of nobility, kindness, and strength: someone who makes you feel comfortable through his warmth but can also handle difficult situations calmly and confidently, without raising his voice or needing to show off his strength. ❤️❤️

Adel, thank you so much for spending our one day in Alexandria with us. We had an unforgettable experience, and learned so much from you, not only about the city and its history, but much more beyond, such as the Egyptian culture and people, interpersonal dynamics and what life in Alexandria looks like. Your trip was truly one of a kind - a mix of history, culture, entertainment, adventure, education, and excitement. We have felt warmly welcomed, incredibly safe, and very well looked after with you. All the things we have seen and learned - mind blowing! All the best to you, we hope to meet again, my friend!

Fuimos a comer y tomar platos típicos.

I am an older man and I have a stent, so I hesitated a lot before deciding to take a three-hour tour, because walking can be tiring for me. I am also not particularly interested in history. But honestly, Adel is the most flexible guide—and human being—I have ever met. He considers me his partner in creating the tour. He asks about my ideas, my interests, and even my personal mood, then adapts and reshapes the tour accordingly, like a tailor making a suit for a groom. I was truly impressed and deeply respected the fact that he let me ride the famous Alexandria tram, the one that is part of everyday life for the people of the city, so I could follow the tour through the streets and crowds while remaining comfortable. He slowed down his walking and his speech so that I could understand him, and he even linked his arm with mine to support me—not as if I were a tourist, but as if I were his own father. When he discovered that I was more interested in popular life and culture, he focused on those aspects more. He also agreed to shorten the tour to two hours without any complaint or hesitation. I was worried at first about being honest with him about my limitations, but honestly, he is a truly kind person—yet also the very definition of “simple on the outside, extraordinary underneath.” He is literally Wikipedia walking on Earth. After the two hours had passed, I was the one who asked him to continue for the third hour, sitting together on the rocks overlooking the Mediterranean. And I was the one who asked him to tell me about the history of the city, simply because I had become so impressed by the depth of his knowledge. My heartfelt advice: don’t wait until after the tour to give Adel your feedback. Tell him your observations, interests, questions, and what you would like to experience while you are still on the tour. What amazed me is the way he takes all of that and, with extraordinary flexibility, rearranges and reshapes the tour around you in real time. He doesn’t simply follow a prepared route and expect you to adapt to it; he adapts the experience to you. As for me, I honestly felt that Adel did not need a review at all. He had already done everything I wanted during the tour. The review was simply my way of thanking him—and even that feels like less than he deserves. Thank you, my dear friend Adel Michel, for your friendship, your knowledge, and for being a genuinely human being with me. ❤️❤️❤️

Our tour was extensive, thorough and eye opening. Adel Aziz helped show us a very real side of Alexandria, his extensive knowledge and understanding of the city helped give us great insight into life in Alexandria. He showed us a variety of popular and lesser known places, and at each stop gave vivid descriptions, bringing the history of Alexandria to life. He answered all our questions in detail, was very friendly, and went above and beyond to give us a taste of Alexandrian culture. We would highly recommend to anybody wanting a very thorough tour.

Adel Michel was the most knowledgeable and responsible tour guide I encountered on any tour. He contacted me before the tour started and adjusted the time to better suit my schedule. Although I was the only one who signed up yesterday, he still explained everything to me very diligently, slowing down his speech and helping me understand the city from every angle. I strongly recommend everyone to get to know Alexandria with Adel Michel. His explanations are far from the typical Egyptian history told to tourists in a tour group; much of it comes from his own professional, accurate, and authentic academic background. The places we visited were mostly not mentioned in any travel guides, but they represent the most valuable aspects of Alexandria's history. Even though they were located in the city center, they held secrets even unknown to to locals. We also experienced the daily lives of the locals, places not usually open to tourists – so many hidden gems of the city. During the tour You will feel Adel Michel his sincere, and I hope his efforts and excellence will be discovered and understood by more people. Because of him, Alexandria may be my most unforgettable trip in Egypt.

This tour is truly full of information and takes you deep into the identity of Alexandria. To really enjoy it, you need to come with curiosity, enthusiasm, and be full of energy, because Adel doesn't simply give you a few historical facts and send you home — he makes you dive into the city, its history, its culture, its streets, and its everyday life. Adel is incredibly generous and gives you far more than I expected. He treats you like a close friend, not just another person on a tour. He doesn't only share history, culture, and the authentic popular side of Alexandria; he also genuinely cares about you, looks after you, and makes you feel protected, almost like a member of his own family. He is such a warm, friendly, and giving person, and spending time with him makes the experience feel much more personal than a normal walking tour. Honestly, it's a shame the app only allows five stars. If I could, I would give Adel one hundred stars — or at least ten! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you, Adel, for everything. ❤️🙏 And on my next visit to Alexandria, I will book with you immediately again — but next time, I'm bringing a notebook with me, because there was simply too much fascinating knowledge to remember! ❤️

Adel is a character and great fun. He really wants you have a firsthand experience of Alexandria. His knowledge though encyclopaedic is always entertaining. Also, as a tourist he solved quite a few issues for me, which were nothing to do with the tour. Highly recommended.

We had a great tour with Adel in Alexandria in early May. We had booked a 4 hour tour and he spent most of his day with us. I had walked so much before we went to Alexandria and my knee started bothering me. I had not thought to bring my knee brace. However, Adel knew a pharmacy where I could get one. He went to the pharmacy and it was too big. So we all walked to the pharmacy and I got the right size. Adel went way beyond his responsibilities as a guide and really helped me with this knee issue. As soon as I got the brace on I was fine. Thank you so much. We went all over Alexandria. We went to their very large library with the world’s largest reading room. The architects had done a wonderful design job. Within the library there was an exhibition of Anwar Sadat. It was very interesting. Plus we saw an exhibition of student art which was very unique and beautiful. We also saw some great sculptures along a sidewalk near the university, I think. Again student art over the years. It looked pretty professional to me. I’m not sure of all the places we walked but during this time Adel gave us a lot of information about the culture, interesting stories about various buildings and mosques. I would highly recommend Adel and his tour. Thank you Adel!

This was an absolutely outstanding tour. O-u-t-s-t-a-n-d-i-n-g. If you're going to Alexandria, don't bother looking at any other tours. I booked this the night before the tour date, late in the evening. Adel was immediately responsive and reached out. I had actually booked a different tour (a Roman historical walking tour) on another site, but that operator cancelled at the last minute. I was devasted because we specifically came to Alexandria to take a historical tour and see the city, and only had 1 day to do it. In the end, I am so glad they cancelled, otherwise I might never have met Adel. Within minutes my tour was confirmed. Communication was easy and clear. I explained about the other tour being cancelled and Adel immediately offered to cover the sites on that tour, as well as do his own tour, which explores the daily life of Alexandrians and history of the city. What an amazing experience. We started at 10:40am and finished at 7:10pm. We covered ALL of Alexandria. We walked, we took an Uber, we took a local mini bus. And we walked and walked. According to my step counter, we blew past our previous record part way through our day, and we've been on a lot of tours around the world. Adel is engaging, fun, has limitless energy, and an encyclopedic knowledge of everything Alexandria, Greco-Roman history, and Egyptian political history. It was really amazing to witness the display of his knowledge. This is not a regular tour guide, believe me. He's educated at a Professor level, and he's clearly passiontate about the subject matter, and it's infectious. His passion fuelled us through the walk, which covered every corner I could think of, and a bunch I never would have found. He is passionate about Alexandria and Egypt, and it shines through. We went to the main tourist sites, we went through the back streets where only locals can go, we saw important historical sites that a tourist would NEVER find on their own. We were always 100% safe, and never felt uncomfortable in any way, regardless of the area. The sheer volume of things we saw and learned was incredible. One thing my wife and I REALLY appreciated was that Adel engaged both me and my wife equally. We've been on plenty of tours where the guide either focuses on me or my wife, but not both. Adel was engaged with both equally. This shows the highest level of respect. Adel even bought us a Koshhary meal in one of his favorite local eateries, and a delicious local juice afterwards. And when I thought the tour was over at 5pm? No way, we still had another 2hrs of things to cover! Wow. We learned so much through the entire day, it was amazing. Not only did we see what we wanted to, but it was so much more. I honestly think it was one of the, if not THE, best walking tours I've ever been on, and I've been on a lot in over 60 countries. 5 stars is not enough. If you're going to Alexandria, book Adel. Period, end of story. You won't be disappointed. I guarantee it.
