I’ve been on many walking tours in many different counties in my time and I’ve never experienced one quite like this! Easily the best I’ve ever been on! While exploring the archaeological sites, I struggled to understand some of the artifacts from the descriptions displayed alongside them. Even though our tour together in Alexandria had already ended and I was now in another city, I shared my difficulties with Adel and sent him pictures. He patiently explained every single picture to me! At that point, I had even told him that I was experiencing a problem with the app on my phone and might not be able to leave him the wonderful review he deserved. He knew that our tour was over, that I was no longer in Alexandria, and that he might not receive anything more from me — not even a review. Yet, he treated me with the warmth and generosity of a family member, without expecting anything in return. Fortunately, the app is working perfectly, and writing this review is the least I can do to thank him for his extraordinary kindness. Adel, you are remarkably humble despite being, in my eyes, the best tour guide I have ever met. Your knowledge is impressive, but what truly distinguishes you is your mind, your philosophy, your genuine interest in people, and your willingness to go above and beyond long after the tour has ended. Adel is not just a tour guide who memorizes historical facts; he is a passionate storyteller and a wonderful human being who makes you feel as if you are exploring the city with a friend. What truly revealed his noble character was the way he corrected me when I shared some inaccurate information about Alexandria due to my limited knowledge of the city. Instead of embarrassing me in front of my daughter, Cecil, he presented the correct information as an addition to what I had said, allowing me to learn something new without losing face in front of my little girl. But there is another side to Adel that I never expected! He has a truly unusual and fascinating aura about him. At one point, he went to get a bottle of water for us while Cecil and I waited. Two young men in the street tried to bother us, and I felt the situation could turn into a serious confrontation. But when Adel returned, before I could even tell him what they had been doing, he seemed to understand the situation immediately. He looked at them and said something in a low voice in Egyptian Arabic. To this day, I have absolutely no idea what he told them! 😅 But their reaction was remarkable: they showed him an extraordinary level of respect and seemed almost eager to get out of his way. At that moment, I realized that Adel's personality is far stronger than I had initially imagined. He is incredibly kind and warm with his friends, but beneath that gentle nature lies a powerful presence and a strong protective instinct. He possesses a rare combination of nobility, kindness, and strength: someone who makes you feel comfortable through his warmth but can also handle difficult situations calmly and confidently, without raising his voice or needing to show off his strength. ❤️❤️

Adel es un excelente guía. Nos dio un tour no convencional por las calles de Alexandria, mostrándolo lugares a los cuales no hubiéramos accedido solo. Fuimos a mercados locales, nos mostró la vida cotidiana de las personas aquí en Alejandria. Fuimos a comer y tomar platos típicos. Se aseguro de que la comida sea higiénica. Nos llevo en un bus local. No tengas dudas de hacer el tour con Adel. Anda con tiempo xq tiene muchas cosas para mostrarte y contarte más allá de lo preestablecido en el tour. Gracias Adel por una excelente experiencia, pasamos un día hermoso.
I am an older man and I have a stent, so I hesitated a lot before deciding to take a three-hour tour, because walking can be tiring for me. I am also not particularly interested in history. But honestly, Adel is the most flexible guide—and human being—I have ever met. He considers me his partner in creating the tour. He asks about my ideas, my interests, and even my personal mood, then adapts and reshapes the tour accordingly, like a tailor making a suit for a groom. I was truly impressed and deeply respected the fact that he let me ride the famous Alexandria tram, the one that is part of everyday life for the people of the city, so I could follow the tour through the streets and crowds while remaining comfortable. He slowed down his walking and his speech so that I could understand him, and he even linked his arm with mine to support me—not as if I were a tourist, but as if I were his own father. When he discovered that I was more interested in popular life and culture, he focused on those aspects more. He also agreed to shorten the tour to two hours without any complaint or hesitation. I was worried at first about being honest with him about my limitations, but honestly, he is a truly kind person—yet also the very definition of “simple on the outside, extraordinary underneath.” He is literally Wikipedia walking on Earth. After the two hours had passed, I was the one who asked him to continue for the third hour, sitting together on the rocks overlooking the Mediterranean. And I was the one who asked him to tell me about the history of the city, simply because I had become so impressed by the depth of his knowledge. My heartfelt advice: don’t wait until after the tour to give Adel your feedback. Tell him your observations, interests, questions, and what you would like to experience while you are still on the tour. What amazed me is the way he takes all of that and, with extraordinary flexibility, rearranges and reshapes the tour around you in real time. He doesn’t simply follow a prepared route and expect you to adapt to it; he adapts the experience to you. As for me, I honestly felt that Adel did not need a review at all. He had already done everything I wanted during the tour. The review was simply my way of thanking him—and even that feels like less than he deserves. Our tour was extensive, thorough and eye opening. Adel Aziz helped show us a very real side of Alexandria, his extensive knowledge and understanding of the city helped give us great insight into life in Alexandria. He showed us a variety of popular and lesser known places, and at each stop gave vivid descriptions, bringing the history of Alexandria to life. He answered all our questions in detail, was very friendly, and went above and beyond to give us a taste of Alexandrian culture. We would highly recommend to anybody wanting a very thorough tour.

Es war die beste Entscheidung auch in Alexandria das Angebot von GuruWalk in Anspruch zu nehmen. Adel ist sowohl als Person und von seiner Profession als leidenschaftlicher Stadtrundgangsleiter die beste Wahl die ich treffen konnte(auch wenn er aktuell nur noch der einzige hier in Aexandria ist,was wiederum für seine Passion und Liebe zum Beruf spricht). Wir haben uns sowohl sprachlich als auch menschlich wunderbar verstanden. Adel Michel was the most knowledgeable and responsible tour guide I encountered on any tour. He contacted me before the tour started and adjusted the time to better suit my schedule. Although I was the only one who signed up yesterday, he still explained everything to me very diligently, slowing down his speech and helping me understand the city from every angle. I strongly recommend everyone to get to know Alexandria with Adel Michel. His explanations are far from the typical Egyptian history told to tourists in a tour group; much of it comes from his own professional, accurate, and authentic academic background. The places we visited were mostly not mentioned in any travel guides, but they represent the most valuable aspects of Alexandria's history. Even though they were located in the city center, they held secrets even unknown to to locals. We also experienced the daily lives of the locals, places not usually open to tourists – so many hidden gems of the city. During the tour You will feel Adel Michel his sincere, and I hope his efforts and excellence will be discovered and understood by more people. Because of him, Alexandria may be my most unforgettable trip in Egypt.

This tour is truly full of information and takes you deep into the identity of Alexandria. To really enjoy it, you need to come with curiosity, enthusiasm, and be full of energy, because Adel doesn't simply give you a few historical facts and send you home — he makes you dive into the city, its history, its culture, its streets, and its everyday life. Adel is incredibly generous and gives you far more than I expected. He treats you like a close friend, not just another person on a tour. He doesn't only share history, culture, and the authentic popular side of Alexandria; he also genuinely cares about you, looks after you, and makes you feel protected, almost like a member of his own family. He is such a warm, friendly, and giving person, and spending time with him makes the experience feel much more personal than a normal walking tour. Honestly, it's a shame the app only allows five stars. El "tour" empezó de forma completamente inesperada, yo era el único participante ! Hablando con el guía, me dijo que prefería grupos de 1-3 personas. Y esto es una diferencia brutal. Porque no era simplemente un tour con paradas programadas, sino un paseo por la ciudad ajustado a lo que YO quisiera ver y hacer. Se sentía mucho más como 2 personas simplemente andando por la ciudad que un "tour". Adel me enseñó tanto lugares "monumentales" como sitios muy locales y más bien privados, que no podría haber visitado de ninguna otra forma (ni con otro guía, ni hablar de solo, imposible!). Al hacer mi reserva y ver que eran 4h, pensé, sí claro 4... Serán 3 como mucho y adiós. Pues no, estuvimos 5h y media, básicamente el tour acabó porque ya no me daban las piernas ! No tenía una duración limitada, sino simplemente al terminar de visitar un lugar, Adel me preguntaba si quería visitar algo más y de qué tipo de cosa. Una maravilla, lo recomiendo 100% para los primeros días en Alejandría. (A pesar de que la ciudad no me está gustando nada, el tour sí me gustó y me hizo tener una idea muchísimo mejor de todo lo que tenga que ver con la ciudad !)

Adel is a character and great fun. He really wants you have a firsthand experience of Alexandria. His knowledge though encyclopaedic is always entertaining. Also, as a tourist he solved quite a few issues for me, which were nothing to do with the tour. Highly recommended.
