Il tour è stato davvero interessante. Contenuto di spessore ma senza mai essere pesante. Ironico e piacevole. Consigliato anche ai non esperti di storia.
Thank you very much The tour was excellent You are a man with a lot of knowledge And your calmness is surprising and special. We enjoyed it very much Nechama
Tamas has a lot of knowledge about the history of Buda and Hungary. He took us to see interesting places which we couldn't have found by ourselves and gave us a lot of interesting information. A different kind of tour than the usual touristic tour in Pest. Thank you Tamas
Tamas shows hidden treasures of Buda and gives his perspective on the old and modern Budapest. Worth joining his tour!
Tamas is a great guide! We had a two hour walk in Buda streets with many interesting details of Communist period, Turkish times and more. We received an outstanding overview of history with tiny details. Tams gave hints on further spots worth to visit. Absolutely recommended!
I had a wonderful time on this walk. Tamás clearly knows & loves the area & is more than happy to share this knowledge with visitors. The tour is off the beaten path, so if you want to escape the crowds in Pest & see some obscure, lovely, interesting or often overlooked places, this is for you!
Tamas is a very knowledgeable and professional guide. With his fluent English and knowledge, we got very good information about this city. It was a very informative tour. He told about the difficulties Budapest experienced in the Second World War and the Soviet communist period that followed. He gave information about its history. He showed important points about the subject. He explained about the cultural structure of Budapest. He showed the hidden gems of the Buda region. He showed local places and cafes. He showed and told about the Turkish bath and the tomb of Gül Baba. You should definitely take this tour when you come to Budapest. It was a perfect tour.
Wonderful unconventional tour. We saw a different side of Buda, and learned many new and interesting facts about the Soviet period of Budapest. Highly recommended for those who love spy movies (you will see real spy gadget from the 50s). Tamas is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject.
Amazing, highly informative, would recommend!
Tamas is a truly local guide. He explains the history of his city with passion including not only interesting facts, but also real historical devices. He is open to all your questions and he puts effort so you understand the facts. He is so kind and friendly. He adapts the tour to the group preferences in order to make the ride as fun as possible for the tourists. You will end the walk and continue talking about all the things that you've learnd. If you like history and you're searching for a calm tour, this is for you!
I enjoyed my tour with Tamas! He is polite and soft-spoken, knows the neighborhood very well and patiently answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend going on walking tours with him. Thanks Tamas!
Highly recommend the tour!
Booking this tour is really worth its salt. We had a nice walk with our guide Tamas. He knows many aspects of the WWII & Cold War period of the region. We could keep our personal space throughout the walk. Really, there are some buildings here with a weird history. We also visited some sites built by the Turkish 500 years ago. That is around a one-and-a-half kilometer walk. The tour is highly recommended!
We met at Batthyany square. A good start point. It has a metro station. Our guide was Tamas. With his good personality he was an excellent guide. We had the chance to discuss many angles of this historical period of Communism. We were also escorted to sites of the Turkish period of Buda. Never knew about this part of history, I personally was very surprised . A highly recommended unique tour. No rush, no time pressure, a very comfortable walk.
I highly recommend this tour for those who are looking for a relaxed walk with an excellent guide. No rush, no lengthy monologues. Tamas showed us really unique spots giving detailed information. We didn't think that inner Buda can be so calm. Tamas recommended further spots worth to drop in.
We attended to a nice walk with a great talk with Tamas. A 2 hour-short tour became somehow a time traveling. Short but interesting stories about the local life throughout the Cold War. We observed buildings with eerie history. Tamas could share many details about the communist period if you are interested. But he doesn't overdose his guests with long monologues. Tamas is a great host!
I had an amazing time exploring Budapest today with Tamas! Along the streets, he pointed out fascinating details that I would have totally missed. Those details really provided different aspects to learn about the history of Budapest as well as Hungary. He was super friendly and made the whole experience really enjoyable. If you're looking for a guide who can show you the unique features of Budapest, he's your guy! Highly recommend!
My tour guide Tamas made this tour truly special. The history was explained in a way that was easy to understand. The stories brought the past to life, making me feel like I was part of the events. My guide told me all about the scary surveillance and control during the Communist regime. We also visited some hidden spots. At each place, our guide gave me clear explanations and was always ready to answer my questions. He showed me how the events from the Communist period still affect today's society, politics, and culture. This made me think about how history shapes our world today. The approachable nature of our guide created a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
The tour highlighted many interesting facts about the Cold War period and more. Personally I felt myself living in that period throughout the hours of the tour... Those hidden gardens in the centre of the city really suprised us.
We had a tour beyond our expectations. The walk was around central Buda district. Our guru was Tamas. He shared many interesting facts and details on how life worked throughout the decades of Communism and Cold War. He put it into a more complex sight than we imagined it as outsiders. We experienced a different way of thinking about historical events and periods. Tamas has a distinctive background knowledge and he was open to listen our views and questions. We had a refreshing walk altogether with funny moments.
I really enjoyed the tour with Tamas because he took us to many hidden gems, that really helped understanding how historical events happened. Tamas' tour showed many places of the communist area and he explained many interesting historical details connected with the places that we were visiting. I have done some other tours in Budapest, and they normally take people to similar touristic places, but Tamas tour helped me to understand these historical events through the eyes of daily life in off the beaten path locations, which I found very refreshing. Throughout his tour on the Buda side, I discovered surprising facts and a very beautiful area with historical and social places only locals know. I recommend Tamas for people that want to have a real insight into life during the communist area, as well as having a wider perspective of the history of Budapest. Tamas was very helpful answering questions related to his tour as well as other questions about history and art, so I really recommend him.
