Various interesting topics. Explanation very good.
It was an amazing tour and learnt a lot along the way. The guide was humourous and engaging. Highly recommended.
Excellent guide, really interesting walk. Very pleased with the experience.
If you get the chance to have Hakan as your guide, grab it! He was funny, knowledgeable, entertaining and always ready to respond to questions. We loved his mix of history and the key sights, with observations about daily life, cats, shisha and arranged marriages. Really came away feeling we had learned a lot about Istanbul. Thank you!
Fantastically entertaining and informative. Emre kept me awake even though I’d come straight off the night bus.
This tour was the Highlight of my Istanbul Trip ! Thanks to Hakan .
Hakan was very knowledgeable and told interesting information about Turkish life and culture, as well as Turkish history.
Great tour. Informative and entertaining.
Fantastic tour of Sultanahmet with Emre.. we walked all of the key sites and he shared a lot of history and culture while we walked. It was a mix of history, culture and stories about every day life in Instabul.. the pace was just right and at the end of the tour, he shared pointers about Istanbul- places to eat / things to do/ etc which was also super useful (we went to a lot of restaurants and places recommended by Emre over the subsequent days)! Great experience, highly recommend!
It was a very interesting walk around the city, and we really appreciated the PDF the guide sent everyone with tips and highlights.
Hakan is a fantastic guide! He is very entertaining and has his own personal stories to go along with the information, which I found engaging. He also gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and what to see by ourselves after the tour. I would do a tour with him again in a heartbeat!
Great tour! Emre knew a lot about the city and kept things interesting.
I booked the free walking tour for my friend and I in Istanbul with Emre through GuruWalk and we had an excellent experience overall. Communication with Emre was great from the moment we booked. He sent us a WhatsApp message with clear information regarding the meeting point, tourist guides, FAQ and other useful tidbits. We were able to find him easily and the tour started on time. He laid out our itinerary very clearly so that we knew exactly what to expect. The difficulty level of the walk was easy (about 3km covered on flat terrain, with frequent stops over the course of several hours). The walk took us through many of the key spots in the historic neighbourhood of Istanbul including the Egyptian Obekisk, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia, the Grand Bazaar, Istanbul University, and the Süleymaniye Mosque. Emre was an exceptional tour guide. He has an extensive and rich knowledge of Istanbul's history, culture and traditions. We really appreciated his ability to tell captivating stories that were also informative and memorable. We also really appreciated how he took us to the main tourist locations but also to other locations that were off the beaten path, like the ancient book bazaar and a shisha cafe that is frequented by locals. He also gave us really helpful information about when would be best to visit certain sights that tend to have more tourist congestion. The Pdf guides he provided us with after the tour had additional information about Istanbul, including activity guides, hammam FAQs, food guides and more. I would not hesitate to recommend Emre's walking tour for any tourist visiting Istanbul for the first time. If we return to Istanbul, we will also contact Emre first to organize other guided tours.
Thank you for this very interesting tour!
Very nice and entertaining!
Mustafa is an amazing tour guide! His knowledge of history is impressive, and he helps you discover the city from a whole new perspective. Highly recommended!
The guide was experimented and the tour was well organised
Very informative, would recommend this guide to friends. We enjoyed the tour and learned a lot. thank you....
Very good tour. Halil was super nice and knowledgeable and we learned new interesting facts.
Halil was very competent and interesting. He soldiered on despite feeling very unwell and deserves recognition for his efforts. Thanks halil.
Hakan was a fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable and explained the complex history of Turkey in very understandable terms. He was able to answer questions and provide a very clear and balanced perspective of the Turkish people. The various stops were really good and helped us to better understand the layout of Istanbul and be able to navigate it for the rest of our trip. His tips on where to go for traditional foods and things to consider when visiting the Blue Mosque were much appreciated. I would highly recommend this three hour informative tour of the old city!
Amazing Knowledge of the City. Best Guide in Town.
Hakan was amazing. His insight and amount of detail on the history and daily life in Istanbul provided great insight. I would recommend the tour to anyone. You should also watch his informative YouTube before you come.
Absolutely the best tour I’ve ever been on, Mustafa was knowledgeable, funny, patient and polite. He was open to lots of questions which was fantastic. He spent an extra hour with us, just amazing! Thanks
This was hands down the highlight of my trip so far! I booked this, but if there aren’t enough people it gets rescheduled. Mustafa made a lot of good recommendations and took us to a few different spots. The tour was extremely immersive, and felt so unique compared to the other tours we’ve done. Mustafa was so warm and hospitable, it was truly like being shown around by a friend.
