He is so knowledgeable and conveys the history in an exciting way that helps you absorb all the history he is teaching. He even has a treat if you answer a question correctly! You will be amazed at him much you will learn from him. Don’t even hesitate about setting up your tour with him. Book it NOW! We are so happy we did.

I want Thomas as my history teacher! We had a great time taking his tour of Philadelphia. I was in a smaller sized group and he engaged with everyone talking about Philadelphia, early American history and getting to know our group. He answered questions, told stories and made sure we all had fun. He asked trivia questions and had candy prizes for winners (but everyone won!), had water for those who were thirsty and showed some historic images on a small iPad to enhance the tour. By the end, he felt like a friend touring us through the city. The 2 hours went by quickly and we didn’t want the tour to be over! Being from Boston and loving its history, I have a new respect for Philadelphia and its early history, too. If Tom’s tour is indicative of his passion for teaching American history, I want to be in his class, too! What a wonderful tour by the best guide. I wholeheartedly recommend his tour!

Thomas was a wonderful and extremely thoughtful tour guide. Days before the tour, he messaged me offering to accommodate to a different time in the chance of rain (I wasn't able to, but I appreciated the offer). Additionally, during the tour he offered water to everyone and even rewarded us with candy when we got his trivia questions right (we all got candy at the end anyway, haha). He took our questions attentively and answered them thoroughly and professionally, always with a smile on his face. He ended the tour by giving us a list of things we could do in the city. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. I highly recommend him! - Asad from Brooklyn

BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER. Thomas delivered the best historical facts with the sense of humor and professionalism of a documentary host. You favorite teacher from school does not compare to Thomas. He gave us snacks, brought water, really attentive and kind-spirited. After 2 hours we wanted to keep going! This guy is a walking library! Thank you so much! Absolutely worth it. -Cande, Sonia, Amelia and Vale

Thomas is a great tour guide and it's apparent he loves history. He weaves an interesting coherent and cohesive narrative with stories of the people and events that took place. He is a fast talker, efficient with his time, and knows how to manage a crowd and not let himself get too distracted or off topic (many guides do not know how to do this). He packed a lot of information into the 2 hour walk. He has a pleasant demeanor and made some helpful suggestions. His "day job" is a history teacher for junior high students and the teacher in him is a great asset for these kinds of tours. If you do take a tour from him, please be sure to tip him generously. These tours take a a lot of time and effort to put together and these guides are not volunteers. There is a shorter organized tour of the area by another company that I see is $50 person (use that as your guide). His tour is much longer and I'm guessing even better. (I have done a ton of walking tours). I don't know him personally and so this plug for sufficient payment is all my own. Consider being generous if you enjoy the tour. : )

I have done many walking tours in both the United States and Europe (both paid and free) and Tom’s is one of the best! His knowledge of history was only outdone by his demeanor. He was professional, had great stories and engaged with everyone in our small group. It was a cold day in Philadelphia and he worked to make sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. The tour was about 2 hours and he found places for us to sit, offered bottled water and had “prizes” for trivia questions. At the end of the tour, he offered each of us suggestions for other things to see and do while in Philadelphia. I recommend Tom 100%- his tour was the perfect way to start my Philadelphia adventure!
