Anyone coming to Amsterdam should sign up for this tour! The tour guide was informative and funny. It’s a great way to explore the historic district.
I highly recommend going on this tour to learn about the Amsterdam Jewish community in World War II. Our guide had so much knowledge and passion for the history that it made the tour that much better. I learned a tremendous amount about Amsterdam, the holocaust, and the experience of the Jewish community.
Our guide had quite a bad attitude, and at the end, he asked us for more money than we had given him. He told us that the tour wasn’t free and that we had to give him 10€ per person, defending his demand by saying this was his job and that we were being rude. The tour itself was actually very informative, but his attitude was unbearable. In the end, he made it feel like we hadn’t even attended the walk! He didn't even talk about Anne Frank. So unprofessional, uncomfortable, and unpleasant! I would not recommend.
Pedro is terrific! Take his tours if you can.
Pedro gave us an very important historical account of the Jewish community in Amsterdam, their very strong and successful community which was almost completely decimated during WW II - highlighting the many collaborators and the amazing Dutch heros’who resisted and saved many lives - I learned many things that everyone needs to know. Keep teaching us Pedro - a must do before the Anne Frank House visit.
