Absolutely amazing. Eduardo really knew his stuff, was so entertaining to integrate history with the specific dishes he picked out. Everything was delightfully and cleverly selected with lots of thought gone into it. The food was delicious and I tried lots of foods I would never have thought to try. Our group was so fun and we had a blast. Highly recommend this tour!!!
Eduardo's downtown walking tour was one of the best we've done. He's a PhD candidate in Anthropology and it shows — this isn't a "fun facts" tour, it's proper history delivered by someone who clearly knows his subject inside out. He covers the 1755 earthquake, the Inquisition, the rise and decline of the Portuguese Empire, and threads it all together in a way that makes you see the city differently afterwards. What makes it special is his dry humour — he's genuinely funny without ever undermining the material. Groups are small, the pace is relaxed, and he finishes - drinks in hands - while overlooking the city, which is a nice touch. Three hours felt like nothing!
