Amazing guide! Vast and deep knowledge about a variety of subjects not only about Uzbekistan. A very smart, kind and and knowledge person!
The conquest of space, the most beautiful metro stations and the meaning behind their decoration. The history of Uzbekistan, the architecture of Tashkent, the secrets of the bazaar. A short and fun bread-making workshop and a long and in-depth discussion about Italian and international football, with a cup of coffee. What more can you ask? Exceptional. Highly recommended. Message for Donat: in the end, we did go to the match (you hadn't told us the most important thing: the new coach is Cannavaro!) and also to the bar you suggested (super cool). Thanks. See you in Italy.
I really enjoyed this tour of a less touristic area of Tashkent. It felt like a true immersion in the local culture. It was super interesting to learn more about local street artists and about the history of Uzbekistan in an alternative way. Donat is a very experienced and passionate guide. I highly recommend this tour, which also complements his other Tashkent City tour.
The urban tour was fantastic, one of my favourite experiences in Uzbekistan! Donat is a great guide, he's extremely knowledgeable and gives a lot of social and cultural context, which allows you to see and understand the street art (and the city) from a very different angle. The art itself is very engaged and multilayered. Very very cool tour!
I really enjoyed the tour with Donat in Chilanzar. Instead of a typical city walk, he took us through courtyards and hidden spots, showing around 15 graffiti and murals by the local “Tashkent Banksy” — Inkuzart. Some works were already destroyed or painted over, which actually made the experience more authentic — you feel how temporary and alive this street art scene is. Many pieces are still there, and Donat adds context and stories that you would definitely miss on your own. Inkuzart is an anonymous street artist active since around 2020, known for socially charged works about topics like the pandemic, corruption, environmental issues, and everyday life in Uzbekistan. His art often sparks public discussion, and some pieces are quickly removed by authorities, which adds another layer to the experience.
