Amazing experience and a must during your stay in Podgorica! Luka was very knowledgeable, friendly and ready to help us with any questions we had about the city, strongly recommended!
The city has some hidden history and places as discovered on this tour. The tour brought us around a very green city, 5th greeniest in Europe, where important statues of people who helped form the city/country of today. Very pleasant and relaxing walk.
My whole trip to the Balkans has really called into question the benefits and drawbacks of various flavours of socialism. Albania's story is so different to its neighbour. It's not clear cut at all and those of us in "free" Western Europe (where young people cannot afford to buy a home) have no real idea if we're basing our views on films, before listening to the perspectives of those, like Maja, whose parents have lived through Tito's Yugoslavia. This was a thought provoking tour by a proud young woman of the city. I will never forget it.
Our walking tour was excellent. Ivan, our guide, was interesting, knowledgeable, and easy to understand. We stopped at many sites along the way, including Podgorica’s oldest building, which now houses a restaurant, and he went over the menu with us and told us about the food of Montenegro. After the tour we went to a cafe where he answered any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this tour.
