Soy Premil Shasendra y trabajo como Guía Nacional de Turismo Independiente. También estoy en TripAdvisor en Sri Lanka durante muchos años. This was a great walk. We learnt about the fishermen of Negombo and the background history of the city .we met some of the locals 5 🌟
Thanks Shashi for taking us on a belated tour after we missed the start in the morning. The tour was informative and varied, giving us a good sense of Negombo and getting to see its key industry (fishing) up close and personal, which was very unique (for us at least). Shashi also provided his knowledge as local of both Negombo and Sri Lanka as a whole. With a couple of well timed tuk tuk rides he managed to fit a lot in little over 90 mins, taking us to most of the town's main sites. Cheers Shashi it capped off of our last day of an excellent adventure in Sri Lanka!
Really enjoyed the tour with Anten!
Shashi was very friendly and showed us a lot of different aspects of Negombo: - market: (dried) fish, vegetables, spices,... He could always tell the name of different food items and how it was used. We were also able to smell and guess, and he helped us in buying fruits. - fish drying plant - Culture: Saint Mary's church, Dutch Bell tower, cricket and volleyball terrain,... - Dutch Canal and Lagoon - ...and answers to the many questions we had! Strongly recommended!
