We visited a Hutong which was nice to get an insight into this way of life, the stops to do some calligraphy and enjoy some street food were a nice addition. I’d have liked a bit more on the history, conflicts etc but I guess part of the issue is the sheer scale of Beijing. The tour ends in a good spot to visit Tiananmen square too
Have done many guru tours in various countries and loved them, we found this tour slow and uninteresting and the guide did not engage with the group, it made for a long and boring morning. Was very distasteful to request a specific minimum payment and to be asked not to leave negative reviews online. Would not recommend.
The walking tour was good, we made our way to the local hutongs of Beijing. Our guru was well prepared, and her information felt more at tune with the local life of China. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Beijing!
