We’re professional guides who, by fate, changed our location but never changed our calling.
Our love affair with Bilbao might seem accidental to some, but it’s far from that. We first came here many years ago as tourists. The city immediately captivated us — the history, architecture, nature, people, the mystery of the Basque culture, and the uniqueness of the language. We fell in love with Bilbao at first sight and didn’t want to leave.
We dreamed of staying to live here. Back then, it was just a dream, and no one imagined it would come true.
During our long separation from Bilbao, we didn’t waste time. We learned Spanish, traveled the world, and even founded Anglotourismo, which has earned four quality certificates from TripAdvisor for our walking tours.
When it was time to choose a new place to call home, we knew right away that Bilbao would be it. And the city embraced us, revealing even more of its beauty and fascinating stories, which we’re eager to share with you. We’re also proudly holding a Master’s degree in Contemporary Culture and Arts from the University of the Basque Country, which gives us a deeper understanding of this unique city.
And that’s why we are the ones who walk like locals.
There was no so much interaction with the guide, we don't even know her name. The accent was quite Australian (she is no a local guide) and not always easy to understand. Some topics were not so easy to understand because she supposed we already knew few things about the basque history. Sometimes we had the impression she was annoyed by us or if we made one more question. Even though, the guide was at least very nice to start the tour even with just 2 of us. The tour and the stops were very interesting.

Olga was a very experienced quide and very experienced in Bibao history and everyday life. The walk took 2.5 hours which passed by very quickly and was easy to walk and mostly flat. We gained an excellent overview of the city which stood us in good stead for the rest of our stay. Olga also gave us some good restaurant recommendations and even WhatsApp’d us the information and associated links to them after the tour had ended. Well done and thank you Olga!
The walking tour was a highlight of our stay in Bilbao. Mike, our tour guide, was charming, polite, very knowledgeable and very interesting. His English is excellent, and he has a lot of enthusiasm for his job. I would highly recommend this tour
