It has been a long time since I attended a tour like this. Due to the current situation, it is a small group and I enjoyed it a lot. Alex introduced many historical facts to us and it was easy to grasp for me that even though I did not know much. Alex was attentive, friendly and knowledgable, I look forward to visit once more in the summer.
In the morning of the tour the guide ask me to pay 6000 rubals
Alex was a great instructor — engaging and knowledgeable. My only comment concerns the communication with the office before the tour. We registered a few days in advance, but only the evening before the tour did we receive a message from Ksenia explaining that, due to the political situation (and therefore the lack of tourists), there was a fixed price per person for this tour. While I completely understand the difficult circumstances, I think this should be mentioned as soon as someone registers — just be upfront and say it might happen. That way, people won’t feel they’re being misled. In the end, I believe the price was fair, and the tour itself was excellent.
We booked the tour in advance with my Hungarian girlfriend. This was advertised as a free walking tour and we were excited to learn about Moscow. However, just one day prior to the booking the tour guide informed us that due to “political situation” there were not enough people attending and the tour suddenly became a paid one with a fixed fee of £60 per person. Totally late notice and why would you advertise something that you know is not in demand and advertise it as free? Unprofessional and lame from the guide. Do not book. Greed over actual desire to “introduce people to the Russian culture”.
