I joined the free walking tour of Almaty and had such a great experience! Karakoz was friendly, engaging, and very knowledgeable — sharing not just historical facts, but also local stories and cultural insights that really brought the city to life. The pace of the tour was just right, with plenty of time to enjoy key landmarks like Panfilov Park and the Zenkov Cathedral. She also brought us to try camel and horse milk at a local joint, and also personally helped us to pick out chocolates at the Rahat factory and local snacks at the supermarket after we asked her for some recommendations. If you’re visiting Almaty, this walking tour is a must-do! It’s the perfect introduction to the city and a great way to connect with its atmosphere and people.
