Me and my family joined a “free” walking tour with What About Tours and had mixed feelings about the experience. The information shared was interesting and gave a good overview of the city. However, the overall delivery and organization could be improved. The guide often spoke too quietly, which made it hard to follow, especially in crowded areas. At times, there was little connection with the group, and the tour felt less engaging than expected. The route itself went through very busy spots, making it difficult to hear and enjoy the explanations. Starting earlier or choosing less crowded locations would improve the experience. In addition, the meeting point was quite hard to find, which made the start of the tour stressful. What stood out negatively was the approach to tips and reviews. Although the tour is presented as free, we were told that certain tip amounts were not acceptable, and there was pressure to leave only 5-star reviews. In my opinion, this kind of approach distorts the rating system and makes reviews less trustworthy. I have joined similar tours in other cities, and they were run at a much higher level in terms of organization, delivery, and overall experience. Overall, while the content was interesting, the execution and communication need improvement. Objectively, I would rate this tour 3 out of 5.
