It really was a super exciting and impressive tour! Our guide met us directly at the hotel/large square and even sent a WhatsApp message beforehand so we could stay in touch with him. We felt more than just safe! He shared a lot about the people, the neighborhood, the city, and also the way of life. He knew many of the people we met, which gave us the chance to have conversations with them. There was also the option to try something, but unfortunately, in this case, the line was so long that we decided to continue the tour instead. For a short change of location, we used local transport, which cost 15 Rand per person. We can only recommend this 100%!
Thabiso, nuestro guía, nos proporcionó la información necesaria para comprender la realidad, tanto del pasado como del presente, de Soweto, del que visitamos tres barrios: Kliptow (clase baja), Pinville (clase media) y Orlando (clase media-alta). En Kliptown, visitamos una guardería que tiene como principales objetivos garantizar, a un colectivo de niños, una comida diaria y facilitarles un entorno que ayude a un crecimiento sano de éstos. No seáis tacaños en la propina para el guía y, sobre todo, en la donación a la guardería, o vuestro corazón os reprenderá hasta el fin de vuestros días :-)
Thabiso was a great guide! He was very knowledgeable and friendly and really cares about the community.
Incan highly recommend the tour to anybody. It is definitely worth it!
