I had the privilege of going on a walking tour with Stella on my final day in Hanoi, where we visited Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Maison Centrale. It was just me that day, so I would say the tour was in many ways an engaging conversation. As someone from the Middle East who has always been interested in the Vietnam War’s history, I can recognize and identify with many of the characteristics of its history, and it was through Stella that I learned much more about Uncle Ho’s life and how the Vietnamese people persisted through times of great hardship and injustice. Stella’s captivating storytelling, depth of knowledge and personal accounts related from her own family’s background added levels of depth to an otherwise already captivating conversation. Stella expertly bridged the gap between history and contemporary culture in Vietnam, which definitely gives you a lot to think about post-tour. For those seeking to understand contemporary Vietnamese history, particularly from someone so passionate and knowledgeable such as Stella, this is the walking tour for you. Es war eine sehr eindrückliche Tour.
Stella was a great guide. She reached out to me on whatsapp, and stayed in contact regarding my requested changes (eventually converted to private tour because I was the only 1 who signed up) She gave me a choice of things to eat, and we went there based on my preference. We went to an eel noodle place that was great - Michelin star rated to boot! We went around on motorbike instead of on foot, and she was a safe and great driver, maneuvering us thru the sunday traffic during VN's 80th anniversary celebrations. She even very kindly rushed to drop me off the train station, so i could catch my Hanoi-Sapa train (which i mistakenly thought would be leaving 40mins later than the actual booking.) Thank you Stella for a great Ha Noi food tour! It was perfect for dinner before I left the city!
Stella ha sido una guía espectacular, no solo nos ha hecho un tour con mucho contexto por el mausoleo, donde nos ha explicado mucho sobre la cultura y la historia, sobre la vida cotidiana del país, sobre Ho Chi Minh en específico, sobre la religión, sobre la economía... Si no también nos ha recomendado más cosas dentro de Vietnam a lo que estamos muy agradecidos. Es una chica muy inteligente con muy buen inglés. Gracias!! 😊
