Descripción del tour

Join me in Nin, a lovely small town, only about 15 kilometers from Zadar, with remnants of the past that spring up in hidden corners of his small island town, in a lagoon connected by two stony bridges with the rest of the mainland.

Nin was the oldest Croatian royal city, very important during the time of Croatian national rulers from 9th - 11th century. Some Croatian rulers were crowned here.

Unfortunately, history did not caress Nin, so in the 17th century it was heavily demolished.

Remains of the largest temple on the east coast of the Adriatic from the 1st century, the smallest cathedral in the world from the 9th century, artefacts in the Archeological City Museum - remind us of the historical importance of this small town, where many people today come to spend their family vacation unburdened, inhaling his rich history, without even being aware of it.

The writer Petar Zoranic, in the 16th century  , got the inspiration to write his novel "Planine" (Mountains) in this town, which was the  first Croatian novel. The place where he wrote the novel and took the inspiration for writing is a lovely small park now. And that is also one of the reasons why it is not surprising that Nin was also declared as one of the most romantic cities in Europe.

# St Nicholas church

If you want to see where, according to legend, Croatian national rulers came after the coronation in Nin, and by what sign they showed loyalty and promised protection to their beloved Croatia, look to the left before turning for old town Nin - you will see the church of St. Nicholas which greets you and welcome you to the city of Nin. I will tell you an interesting story about this church.
