Free Tour Valencia Auténtica

A very different tour to what I've experienced on other free city walking tours. John was extremely passionate about the history of Valencia (and Spain) and went into depth about each monument / statue that we passed. We were a small group that allowed time for more discussion than normal. It was really interesting and his presentation style was first class. As a result, we didn't really travel that far (but note also I had to leave the tour early to catch my flight). However, this approach suited me perfectly as I had already spent a few days in the city and saw the main sights so it was great to hear a more detailed background explanation of things rather running from site to site. John used a map to explain the main areas of interest in the city which was very useful to any first time visitors needing to orientate themselves. John is a great guy and I would hugely recommend spending time with him but bear in mind the style of this tour.

Excellent tour in a small group. John’s background to Valèncias history was super interesting and delivered with a real passion. He brought events like the Spanish Civil War to life linking major events to monuments. It is a subject we are not taught about in the UK and we had no real idea of its brutality. Left the tour much better educated. For us John brought guru walk back to its ideals. Individuals sharing their passions in small groups. There is of course a place for the commercial operators but for us guides like John are a preferable option.

Lots of information both on the tour and about the city/any questions we had after. Helped shape a very enjoyable city break.

It was just a fun walk with John with a lot of history knowledge that he gave us. Would totally recommend this tour with John :)
