I am a 37 year old man from the archipelago of Orkney in the far north of Scotland. Great tour, and a great guide! Incredibly informative, far beyond what you might expect from the usual tourist sightseeing routes. And it was entertaining too. I’ve visited Helsinki 10+ times before but after this tour I appreciate the architecture, culture and history of this city so much more. And importantly, this was achieved in a fun, interactive and personal way. I highly recommend this tour, and anything else that John is offering - because of John himself.
John led us on a great tour of Helsinki. Late December was a great time to visit the city, lights were up, and we start at the Moonies Christmas scene at Stockmann. John mixed in stories of the city and country with Chrismas stories and peppered knowledge in to his stories of his time spent living in the city. The wind picked up and our stopped in warm places and responded to the quesrions and requests in our small group. I highly recommend this tour and will attend John’s other tours when I visit Helsinki again.
Really entertaining and interesting tour of Helsinki!! John is very knowledgeable about architecture and Finnish history and culture. Amazing to hear lots of stories about Christmas and more broadly about the Finnish imagination. Would definitely recommend!
