We joined a walking tour of the Imperial City in Hue with Du, a local guide with a solid knowledge of the site and its historical background. Du’s explanations were generally okay and provided a basic understanding of the Imperial City. As a local, she clearly knows the place well and covered the main historical points. However, we felt the experience could have been stronger. Her English has quite a thick accent, which sometimes made it difficult to fully understand the explanations, especially in a group setting. While the information shared was acceptable, we were hoping for deeper insights, clearer storytelling, and more engaging responses to questions. Some questions from participants were answered briefly, and there is room for improvement in how customer questions are addressed and how information is communicated overall. One practical note: although the tour is advertised as a 2.5-hour program, it easily extended beyond 3 hours, even though our group moved at a fairly efficient pace. This is something future participants may want to plan for. Overall, this was a decent tour and not a bad experience, but we have had walking tours with stronger communication, clearer explanations, and better time management. With improved English clarity, customer interaction, and tighter pacing, this tour could be significantly better.

I was unable to get a map at the ticket office and he went the extra mile and dropped one off at our hotel for me to journal.
