Very knowledgeable, there was only 2 of us on the tour. He very kindly did a detour and helped us get a Sim card before carrying on with the tour. Taught us some of the local words and how to get around on the jeepneys. A very pleasant morning spent with a lovely guide. Highly recommend.
Chrislann was great!
I truly appreciate the prompt communication by Lloyd. And Iโm also glad that Lloyd keep to run this tour even tho it was just me who participated in that day
Hazel was amazing. Her depth of understanding Philippino history and making it relevant is excellent. Her English is outstanding. The food tour is everything a foodie could expect and more! We loved that she took us to where Tuslob all began. It is truly an authentic local experience. She willingly answered all our questions did not hurry us along during the tour. We are so happy we signed up for the tour!
Lloyd was an excellent tour guide and a great guy to spend time with. Lloyd was very informative and had a great knowledge of Cebu history and culture. Would definitely recommend him as a tour guide.
Fue un tour รบnico. Hazel supo satisfacer perfectamente todas las inquietudes culturales e hizo un tour super interesante y ameno.
Hazel was amazing, we took our time nothing was rushed was a great tour
Hazel really took us off the beaten path where we got to experience Cebu like a local. Such an amazing experience!!
One of the absolute highlights of my trip. Hazel is excellent as a guide, but also as a friend. You feel completely at ease and protected in her hands.
Hazel was outstanding! You won't regret this. She also is willing to modify the time for your travel plans. Sign up and then reach out to her. She is excellent with communication. Book it!
Hazel was a wonderful tour guide who went above and beyond making sure the whole tour with just us two was an engaging and informative experience. I could ask her any questions about the Phillippines and she gave wonderful tips, she was very professional but also personable and approachable. It's clear she's interested in the lives and interests of each of her clients and remembers them well, despite meeting so many each week. The tour itself was great and offered great insight into Cebu in such a short time, and the food was very good!
We went on an incredible tour with Lloyd, easily one of the best weโve ever done. He kept us entertained with stories, showed us hidden gems, and local insights. One of the highlights was when he introduced us to puto maya, a Filipino red sticky rice snack with mango and Milo at the markets. It was such a unique and delicious treat we never would have discovered on our own. Lloyd explained how to ride the Jeepneys and even which numbers would get us back to our hotel. We needed to arrange transport to Moalboal and Lloyd kindly took the time after the tour to assist us with booking this. Lloydโs knowledge, humour, and genuine passion for the area made this tour unforgettable. Highly recommended!!
Si quieres ver el Cebu autรฉntico y probar algunas especialidades tรญpicas รฉste es tu tour.
Great tour with some interesting insights into Cebu food culture. Would recommend this tour for sure and also loved being able to ride a Jeepney.
BOOK THIS TOUR! Hazel did an amazing job teaching us about the history and food culture in Cebu. The market is very interesting to see. Hazel took us to a local place where we got a small workshop on how to make puso (rice wrapped in banana leaves that resembles a heart). Afterwords we ate the puso with pork brain.. DELICIOUS! The last stop was at a Michilin guide recommended restaurant that specializes in lechon. I have never had pork that tasted that good! The entire time Hazel made sure we were comfortable and we actually had nice conversations and laughed a lot with her. Do yourself a favor and book this tour if you want to get to know Cebu and support the locals while in great company of a great tour guide like Hazel.
Amazing tour! It was our first time booking something like this, so we honestly had no expectations, but it ended up being sooo fun and interesting! We got to discover places we definitely wouldn't have ended up at on our own and used methods of transportation that we otherwise wouldnโt have taken in Cebu. Highly recommend you give it a try! You wonโt regret it.
Another winning Guru tour. I have taken Guru tours all over the world, and I especially enjoyed this intimate group of people that I toured with. Hazel, our host, was so delightful. She started the tour at Magellan Cross. And gave us history and insight into the Philippine culture right from the beginning. The tour was an easy walk around the backstreet of the fruit and vegetable and flour market that has been around for over 120 years. I love seeing all the vendors playing their fruits and vegetables and being part of the vibe of the market.. Hazel took time to speak to us individually ask us about ourselves and share her stories and we had so much fun. We took a jitney and learned firsthand and if you sit in the seat directly behind the driver, youโre in charge of collecting all the funds for the passengers and giving them change. You just donโt get that kind of experience anywhere else, but on a. Guru tour. I hope that you found this review interesting and then you spread the word and get Guru going all over the world
This ended up being more of a food tour with very nice surprises
Hazel is super attentive and a great guru!
Fantastic tour with great storytelling about the history and culture of the Phillipines! I am appreciative of being able to get the chance to spend my first day in the Phillipines with a walking tour like this. Started with a good download of the history, and with some interesting facts about some of the questionable traditions sprinkled in there. And then midway went to the Carbon Market to try some Puta - I wished we had more time for that! Great tour guide! Recommend this tour - it is more history over a food tour FYI.
Perfect tour! Lloyd is very knowledgeable and everything he tells is very interesting. I learned and saw a lot during the tour. On top of that, we were able to enjoy some nice street food as well. I would recommend this tour to everyone!
Amazing experience with Hazel! I honestly kept my expectations average at first. Iโm Filipino, so I thought I already knew what to expect from a Cebu tour. The trip was mainly for my foreign partner and my nephews who had never been to Cebu. But surprisingly, even I learned a lot. Many of the stories and details Hazel shared were completely new to me. One highlight was the hanging rice weaving activity in the tuslob buwa stop (nice owners too!). I underestimated that part, but it turned out to be really interesting. And when Hazel asks if you want to try food at a food court or at a local place, choose the local place! My mom was even surprised at how clean and organized the tuslob buwa spot was. Before we started, Hazel checked with all of us about our comfort and preferences. She kept her energy the whole time and made sure everyone was involved. She even asked trivia questions so my teenage nephews stayed engaged and didnโt feel left out. We also had a really nice conversation during dinner at the lechon house. The food was amazing. Her English is excellent, so the conversation was smooth and easy. Riding the e-bike, walking through the oldest market while it was coming to life in the afternoon, and seeing everything up close made the whole experience very memorable. Donโt miss booking a tour with Hazel. Highly recommended!
Hazel, the tour, the food and the places we visited were amazing!
