I really enjoyed Joana's tour of Guimarães! There were only two of us, meaning it was very personal and we had lots of time to ask questions, but I think she would have been able to recreate this experience even if there was a larger group. Joana has lots of knowledge and clearly loves Guimarães. An excellent way to spend part of your day in the city; I was staying in Gaia and travelled across by car but would recommend people stay in Guimarães for a couple of days as there's plenty to see.

Joana was the PERFECT guide to have in Guimarães, with excellent diction and in-depth knowledge of the city’s entire history. She was able to answer every question I asked, always with good humor and attentiveness. She has the best recommendations for food and places to visit in the city. My experience in Guimarães was greatly enhanced by taking her tour. I recommend bringing €10–€15 per person in cash at the beginning of the tour. Unfortunately, I hadn’t thought of this beforehand and had very little cash with me, which I deeply regret, because Joana’s tour is excellent and deserves full recognition for her work!
