Ciao, mi chiamo Mohammad, sono nato nella città di Amman (centro città) e sono cresciuto lì e vivo ancora lì, facevo un free walking tour da molto tempo. e ho visto con i miei occhi come Amman si è sviluppata per più di 50 anni, e so molto sulla cultura e su cose come mai da quel momento in poi ciò che le persone yang non sanno a riguardo. e parlo come testimone di Amman. Parlo dei rapporti sociali, come erano e come sono diventati adesso, e parlo di vecchie storie vere, e di come avveniva l'acquisto della verdura e del cibo perché, io andavo con i miei genitori a comprare al mercato ortofrutticolo più antico di Amman ed esiste ancora. Inoltre parlo dei diversi mercati di Amman e della storia di ogni mercato e del motivo del suo nome. Alcuni di questi mercati hanno ragioni divertenti per la loro denominazione. Sto cercando di rendere questo tour diverso e parlare della cultura della comunità locale e di aspetti più sociali viene da qualcuno che l'ha vissuta e non si trova nei libri. Sto cercando di mostrare al visitatore la vita sociale e culturale della gente di Amman. Tranne tutto ciò che è turistico o legato al turismo. O siti storici. Parliamo solo della vita locale. E ho molte recensioni in diversi siti per il free walking tour prima di iscrivermi a questo sito.
Very good tour, Mohammad was very motivated and gave us a lot of infos about Amman and Jordan, also many recommendations for shopping and restaurants.
Exceeded our expectations! Mohammed began by giving us a brief overview of Amman’s history at the rooftop of the Pasha Hotel (great views btw) before taking us on the tour. He showed us different markets/souqs, explained their histories and introduced us to some local food and restaurants, giving us a glimpse into local life. Overall, a great experience and introduction to Amman, would highly recommend!
I had such a memorable walking tour in Amman with our local guide from GuruWalk! We began on the rooftop of the Pasha Hotel, where he welcomed us with true Arab hospitality — offering water and coffee while we enjoyed the view. Over coffee, he spent time sharing fascinating stories about Jordan’s history, from its ancient Nabataean and Roman roots through the Ottoman era and British mandate, all the way to modern-day Amman. He even showed us some of his precious photographs of memories of what the city used to look like, which added so much depth and warmth to the experience. After our chat, we explored a variety of markets — the bustling vegetable market, the “thieves” and electronics markets, the donated clothing market, and more — each revealing a different side of local life. He also introduced us to some delicious Jordanian delicacies, including the best kunafeh in Amman! His passion, knowledge, and kindness made this walk one of the highlights of my trip. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the real Amman through the eyes of someone who truly loves it.
Mohammad was great- he gave practical insights to new visitors to Jordan (like which markets and food places to go to for what). He was also very knowledgeable of the history and the layout of the city- would recommend. For another guest, he even went above and beyond in helping them find a guide for other day trips.
